Beware: Multisex chaotic door policy
Was denied access at multisex today. I abided to all the door policies listed on their website but apparently i did not “fit in the right vibe”.
Was asked if i had been at multisex before and i honestly replied i did not remember. Had been living in amst for nearly 10 year but moved away in September. Been to many parties in those times. I was told i was lying because multisex is recent and therefore i was not allowed in 😂.
Turns out i had been at Studion Weiman (Multisex) in October for ADE but i forgot about it because it was honestly not great music wise.
Anyway, as someone who has been to de school, wasteland and mova (and multisex itself apparently) i was quite surprised by the quick judge of character the door staff was.
I bought the ticket on ticketswap and was told “you should have not done that, is not nice”.
For the refund i wa given an email and got told “it is not our problem you used ticketswap”. Aaaaanyway After calling ticketswap i was informed it is a partner event and they have in fact integratet ticket systems 😂.
I flew in to go to this party with my friends and was told “we did not ask you to fly in”. This is simply unnecessary and meant to hurt for no reason.
All the meanwhile the staff in the back was having a laugh about the exchange.
Soo me and my partner left the venue and a group of 12-15 people who all magically got in because they are apparently unlike us two.
Not gonna lie, is though to go through such discrimination, disrespect and lack of empathy at the entrance of a venue in a city like Amsterdam where i almost never experienced something like this. De School in its early days was one exception but well, we all know how that ended.
Will ask my friends how this turned out to be, but ADE had nothing sexual especially when you compare it to the plethora of available parties that are way more loose in that respect. The music was also terrible at the time, the crowd was ok-ish but a bit pretentious.
Oversold venue? Mandatory rejection quota? Frustrated staff? Mix of all? Who tf knows. 0 risk of repetition on my end anyway. Is multisex, a new party in Amsterdam trying to generate some sort of exvlusive vibe that feels very superficial; it is not Berghain, a place with real history.
