Kinky queer parties rdam/amsterdam?

Hi!

Recently moved in the NL and trying to find some sex positive clubs/events. All the better if I can enjoy the music at the same time, so I’d like to avoid hetero couples venues by any means necessary.

A quick scan of reddit posts hasn’t taught me much so far (dates posts) so I thought I’d ask the question anyway

I’ve heard Align in Rdam was fun in June, but not so consistent in terms of quality. Missed that party in export so I can’t really judge for myself.

Would you have any recommendations for me? Appreciate it!

Dress code - Casual and gimme bass

Can anyone tell me what club in Amsterdam usually doesn’t have a dress code? I will only have graphic tees and pants.

Thank you in advance! 😁

Tillatec Set Times

Do Tillatec post their set times in advance often?

Hoping to see Pablo Bozzi, ISAbella & Mama Snake (obviously not just limited to those 3) but am going to Dekmantel in the day. Is it likely that all 3 and even the secret guests to be playing after midnight Sunday as thats probably the soonest we can get there.

Any advice or even tips for the week at Dek would be much appreciated, thankyou!

Monthly festival discussion | JULY

After one of the hottest weekends in recent memory, festival wise July starts on a bittersweet note.

The extreme weather forced the last-minute cancellation of several festivals, including Defqon, Nous'Klaer Festival and others. Nobody wanted to see months of preparation disappear overnight, but it was ultimately the right call. Safety always comes first, even when it hurts.

A small reminder from us: be kind to the organisers, crews, artists, volunteers and everyone behind the scenes. Festivals don't simply happen. Thousands of people spend months building these temporary worlds, often working around the clock in the final week. Sometimes Mother Nature wins. Lago Lago fortunately got greenlit and going by comments from friends and videos online, it looked like a deliciously sunny weekend filled with people dancing their hearts out. Maybe next year…

Thankfully, July gives us plenty of chances to party outside some more. Whether you're camping in a Dutch forest, dancing underneath industrial steelworks in Germany or making the trip into the Slovenian/Spanish/French countryside, this month offers something for almost every flavour of electronic music..

Wildeburg

July 9 - 12 | Kraggenburg

If there is one Dutch festival that has steadily grown into a cult favourite over the last decade, it's Wildeburg. It is my personal favourite festival in The Netherlands, nine years since my first visit and not planning on missing an edition anytime soon.

Unlike many camping festivals that primarily sell big names and focus on music only, Wildeburg has always focused on creating a world of its own. The site is packed with hidden stages, art installations, a bamboo forest that somehow seems to keep expanding at night, and enough unexpected moments to make planning almost pointless. Wander first, schedule later. Also, if you’re ever near Radio De Koperen Hond, eavesdrop for a minute because that place can create your weirdest and best memories of the weekend. They are simply very unpredictable in what is on offer. Beer estafette hour? Christmas celebration? Happy hardcore power hour 5-6 am? Don’t underestimate this stage.

The lineup once again reflects that philosophy. Wildeburg mixes adventurous selectors, live acts and crowd favourites across house, techno, breaks, bass, minimal, dancehall and everything in between. An overview of some of the stages:

Helling (‘mainstage’) is mostly euphoric house, eurotrancy, UKG. Think ATRIP & LAMMER, Million, X Club, Newtone. And VTSS hopefully bringing a bit more power and speed to the Friday night. Job Jobse has been flying high with sunny daytime sets (Selectors, Lentekabinet, Lago Lago) and on Saturday Wildeburg can also expect lots of cheesy, poppy and sometimes even slutty happiness. Crowds will be wild, Moxes & PHIA will take over after with warm house. In the evening a personal favourite and, by the Berghain subreddit dubbed ‘queen of Pano’ Avalon Emerson will take us all over the place musically, honestly can’t wait. The track she closed her Dekmantel ‘25 Loop set with, a more powerful edit of this song, insanely beautiful closing song. I have a love-hate relationship with this stage. It can be the most chatty and mainstream with more phones on the dancefloor than on other stages, but when the music (and perhaps other things…) hit right, you’ll be gliding on bubbles and rainbows. Keep your phones and digital world in your tent or pocket and stay in the moment <3

Duinpan offers a different variety of techno and is where I usually metaphorically pitch my tent. British freak techno producer Blawan returning for the ?’th time, ostensibly and deservedly a Kultlab favourite , Berghain’s new age favourites Ogazon and Rene Wise going b2b, a sluttier and more vocal start on Saturday with DJ Fuckof into MCR-T and later on steadily transitioning towards more ‘serious’ techno with Rodhad, after Delano Legito delivers us there with his amazing and varied track selection. (DL please play Marionette again? <3). On Sunday we’re treated by a 4.5 hours Altinbas set, expect a more dubtechno version than the peaktime that you might be used to.

Bamboebos has a more minimalistic and dubby approach. Ogazon has been on such a hot streak that she gets a timeslot here as well, most likely vinyl only and very excited to witness a stage I don’t often end up at. Priori has been everywhere, but you won’t hear too many people complain about it. Getting a 3-6AM closing slot sounds like perfection, give me this. The next day two favourite Waking Life acts Mountain People and PLO Man, will play before Raresh and the Sunday closes of with the one label to rule them all, LotR.

Bud X Lodge will make you explore more alternative sounds and musically wildly differs per day. Live acts like Gioray, Alberta Balsam and Mammo are worth looking into. Saturday you’ll have two Draaimolen highlights going b2b with Herve & Xioalin, nthng and their impressive amount of amazing productions with low pace, deep bass and atmospheric sounds, then it goes off the rails with Torus (old skool trance?) into Hysteria DJ’s into Promo (please, please, please tell me it is DJ Promo, if so catch me front row) and end it off with HyperLili (think Jeans/Spekki/Woody92 style). .

Don’t sleep on the Wildlive stage! Daytime often offers slower paced live performances from all across the globe and closer to the night it becomes more raw and energetic. Still need to research the artists I do not know, but might take a look at S10 and Hang Youth. Any recommendations??

For many people on this subreddit, Wildeburg has quietly become their favourite camping festival in the Netherlands. If you embrace getting lost instead of chasing the timetable, you'll probably understand why. Still need structure and guidance in getting lost? Every year Wildeburg has a treasure hunt, starting point camping spot, that will take you around the entire property. Showing you places you normally wouldn’t end up at.

Don’t want to jinx it, but the weather is looking like absolute perfection…

Awakenings Festival

July 10 – 12 | Hilvarenbeek

The biggest techno festival in the country returns to Beekse Bergen. Awakenings hardly needs an introduction anymore. It's massive, polished and unapologetically focused on showcasing every corner of modern techno. It is consistent in quality and lineup, not too many surprises and many recurring names. Whether you're after industrial, groove, melodic or the faster end of the spectrum, chances are you'll find an area dedicated to it.

It isn't necessarily the festival for spontaneous discoveries anymore, but if you're looking for production on a grand scale and one of the strongest pure techno bills of the summer, Awakenings continues to deliver. Besides booking the biggest and the ‘best’ of techno, Awakenings has also been giving platforms to homegrown talent. Lobster has earned a beautiful slot by closing off stage H on Friday after none other than Philippa Pacho. Julia Maria, Valody and rising stars Grace Dahl, Ignez and Stranger x Talismann should be fun as well. An infinite amount of nameworthy artists, a few I would check out if were there: DJ Rush because of the Awakefest 2013(2014?) memories where he closed off X or Y while singing over this own techno tracks, MCR-T x Partiboi69 for more mad ghetto tech & ket sing along vibes, Vladimir Dubyshkin’s ticket to childhood is beautiful to hear live, Akua x Henning Baer, Stranger x Talismann and Chlar x Yanamaste are all interesting back2backs. Stay hydrated and don’t forget to sleep xx

Landjuweel

July 31 – August 2 | Ruigoord, Amsterdam

No Dutch festival quite captures the free spirited mindset like Landjuweel at Ruigoord. Prefer visuals over words to be convinced? Check out Het Landjuweel’s own 2024 aftermovie and/or 3voor12’s version for the 2025 edition

It's part arts festival, part village gathering and part weekend-long celebration of everything that makes this tiny cultural enclave so special. Don't expect pristine production or perfectly timed schedules, often even testing your patience with long queues for drinks and food... Do expect theatre, performances, live music, electronic stages, spontaneous encounters and plenty of wonderfully strange moments and even more wonderfully strange people. Colours and entertainment all over the place. Overstimulated? Hide out in the butterfly forest, in the pyramid or the kabouter’s home. Music wise there are a variety of options, mostly live but when it gets darker they definitely change up the place and space into a proper party. Dutch Acid Foundation will pop up somewhere sometime and steadily increase from 80-180 bpm in a few hours.

Electronic music is only one part of the experience here, but it's exactly that blend of creativity that keeps people returning every year. Very age friendly festival, children (especially on Sunday and in general during daytime) will be running around and there is no other festival that will have more 60+ year olds ‘running’ around than Landjuweel. Gives me faith that I will still be going out when I reach the next chapters of my life… On Saturday night the ‘Beeldenroute’ will take place. A parade where everyone is advised to join. Together you walk through Ruigoord and around its border, with art performances and installations along the way. A ritual walk that means a lot to the inhabitants of Ruigoord, if you want to understand the magic of this sanctuary and give some respect, join in!

Dekmantel Festival

July 29 - August 2 | Amsterdam

Our beloved moderator and fellow Dekmantel fanatic u/FutureVanilla4129 and I wanted to collaborate on writing about this iconic festival in Amsterdam forest. Turned out her enthusiasm had her write more than this entire July festival preview. And the read was too enjoyable to shorten it, so we decided that we’ll either give a separate Dekmantel preview or incorporate it into the August one. A short Dekmantel fest shoutout from my side: definitely going to Melkweg on Thursday’s for musical inspiration by Darkside (Nicolaas Jaar & Dave Harrington), Piezo & Upsammy presenting eerie enterprise - sounds spaceshippy, Headache (triphop meets ambient meets kinda depressing poetic spoken word voiced by ai…?) and for me finally… Sepehr live! The actual festival recs will follow later this month...

---

Orbit Festival

July 25 | Utrecht

WAS.' outdoor showcase has quietly become one of the strongest one-day festivals in the Netherlands and perhaps the only one around Utrecht of this size and quality that leans a bit more underground. The historic fort provides tunnels, hidden courtyards and intimate stages, while partners like IsBurning, United Identities, La Cassette and Uncloud each bring their own musical identity. This year's lineup includes Ryan Elliott, Young Marco, Carista b2b Jyoty, BASHKKA b2b OK Williams, Fafi Abdel Nour b2b tINI, Orbit favourite Jensen Interceptor, Zenker Brothers (live), Salome (the Salome Wildeburg memories…<3) and plenty more.

Festivals outside NL

The Netherlands has a lot of great day festivals to offer, but is still lacking in multi-day camping festivals with electronic music that take you into another dimension or your version of paradise. Please please please put some effort into visiting festivals abroad. The Netherlands has its own version of beauty, but scenery and landscape wise we can be a bit boring, weather is often better and sometimes it's simply nice to dive deep into a territory unknown. Go and explore!

Stone Techno Festival

July 10 – 12 | Essen, Germany

One of the most unique venues in Europe returns.

Stone Techno takes place inside the UNESCO-listed Zollverein industrial complex, where towering steel structures, old mines and concrete landscapes create an atmosphere that few festivals can match.

Musically, Stone Techno continues to lean towards the deeper and more timeless side of techno. This year seems the most creative so far and I see loads more live artists on the lineup compared to previous years. Live queen Dasha Rush, Benjamin Damage, Anthony Linell, Scion Versions, Lady Starlight, Yanamaste x Alarico, Toru Ikemoto, Barker (personal most listened to set of the last year+), Legowelt, D-Leria, Satoshi Tomiie, Luigi Tozzi, Convextion (dubby, spooky electro/techno: 10/10 Saule memory), Carrier, Out of Place Artefacts (.VRIL x Rodhad). Looking for alternative electronic sounds? Many options with Upsammy, Verraco x Skee Mask, Martinou, Call Super x Gabrielle Kwarteng, Vladimir Ivkovich, Rotterdam's close record founder and resident Serge & Afra opening on Sunday must be sexy, same time as Sunju Hargun x DJ Maria got you. And newest talent on the block Decoder is doing a b2b Andy Martin, don’t miss it!

If you're making the trip from the Netherlands, expect long sets, excellent sound systems and one of the strongest festival locations anywhere in Europe. Very music oriented, no random poespas like at Wildeburg or Landjuweel. Some have issues with the streamed sets, but those can easily be avoided if you look at the starred* sets at the timetable.

There is also some parties at night, with of course stellar techno lineups as well. And for the globetrotters among us it might be a good time to afterparty at Open Ground, not too far from the festival.

---

Butik Festival

July 16 – 19 | Tolmin, Slovenia

A familiar recommendation for anyone looking beyond the Netherlands.

Set between mountains and rivers in Slovenia, Butik has built a reputation as one of Europe's most intimate boutique electronic festivals. Capacity stays deliberately small, the crowd is international without feeling overwhelming, and the programming consistently favours tasteful selectors over obvious headliners and lots of regional artists given good timeslots to showcase their talent.

The 2026 edition once again leans heavily into deep house, minimal, dubby sounds and leftfield electronics. Expect extended sets, relaxed afternoons by the river and dancing that naturally continues until sunrise.

If you're looking for a festival where the setting is every bit as memorable as the music, Butik remains one of the easiest recommendations of the summer. Sold out and usually sells out within a day. But you never know with last minute cancellations for festivals abroad…

---

Feel Festival

July 23–26 | Bergheider See, Germany

Fusion's more intimate cousin might be a fair comparison. Feel is less about chasing DJs and more about creating a temporary community around music, art, workshops and lakeside living. Electronic programming spans house, techno, downtempo, ambient and live acts across beautifully designed stages, making it an excellent choice if you're after a slower-paced camping festival with plenty to discover. Check out their aftermovie on their website to get a feel of the festival 😉 Also quite unknown by Dutchies so it might be a good escape from your own reality!

---

Now onto a duo of festivals in France and Spain that feel similar in its intimate size, mature crowd, stunning setting in nature, variety of up- and downtempo music, more psychedelic/hypnotic focused techno and crazy visuals. Memori (FR) and Parallel (SP) are two that fit this bill perfectly and one (La Nature in France) just finished and was supposedly magical as well.

Memori Festival

July 2-5  | France

A new boutique festival with a medieval looking artstyle meant for lovers of deep, hypnotic electronic music. Expect an intimate setting, carefully curated production and lineups centred around triphop, dub techno, hypnotic techno, live music and even an ambient stage. Check out the timetable. If your ideal weekend is quality over quantity, Memori deserves a look. A swimming pool, camping in the woods, vegetarian food and

Parallel Festival

July 24-27 | Port del Comte, Spanish Pyrenees

If your festival wishlist includes mountain air, Funktion-One sound systems and hypnotic techno, Parallel remains one of Europe's standout destinations. Hidden high in the Catalan Pyrenees, the festival focuses almost exclusively on deep, hypnotic and experimental techno, with extended sets from artists at the deeper end of the spectrum. The location alone makes the journey worthwhile, but the consistently excellent curation is what keeps people returning year after year. With Shed live, Xiaolin, Sandwell District, Reeko, Marie Pravda, Marco Shuttle and Dasha Rush on the lineup you’re in for a treat. Aftermovie impressions 2024 and 2025

---

Where are you going?

As always:

  • Which festivals are you attending this month?
  • Any hidden gems we missed?
  • Looking for travel buddies, campsite neighbours or rideshares?
  • Curious about a festival? Ask away, there's a good chance someone here has been before.

I am very much looking forward to this month with weekend tickets for Wildeburg, Landjuweel and 2.5 days Dekmantel.

Have a great July, stay hydrated when the heat returns next weekend, look after one another, and hopefully this month brings more dancing than weather warnings.

Weekly Party Discussion | 3 - 5 July 2026

Hi there,

It feels weird to write about parties right now and share any excitement about them but here I am writing this one. Last week, we lost one of ours, and as I'm writing this, my heart is still heavy and I'm still processing this loss.

You know, when you're clubbing, you end up making many of these fleeting connections, bonds formed in the club that somehow feel deeper than the ones you have with some friends outside, all because of the shared emotions and magic we experience together. Sometimes, these connections are with people whose names you don't even know. But when you dance next to them, you share a smile or a nod, and just finding them on the dancefloor gives you a sense of belonging and sanctuary. Sar, with her radiant energy and infectious smile, always provided that feeling around her. These connections, whether fleeting or deep, are what make our dear dancefloors feel so special, and they are why we keep coming back. Rest in peace, Sar. We will keep you in our memory with every dance. <3

Thursday

dreamslesssweet @ Papaverhoek 27
Live music event curated by Vlada, which organizers describe as :"an evening for soft distortions, blurred guitar tones, low lights and shared silence. powered by addit audio".

Heith & Tarawangsawelas @ Muziekgebouw
Discovered this album a few weeks ago and just found out they are playing at Muziekgebouw this week. Through the album, they create scenes and landscape using electronic elements, and I think this will come even more alive in a concert setting.

Friday

Mad Miran All Night @ Raum
Mad Miran doing an all nighter in your fave club, for the joy of all the leftfield folks.

Upsammy curates @ Garage Noord
Choosing between Mad Miran and Upsammy playing on the same night is tough here. This feels like a replay of Morocco vs Netherlands in the World Cup. Good luck, whatever you choose, you are making the right choice but I personally lean for Morocco.

Saturday

Ouragan @ Noordspace
Celebrating their first release, Ouragan organizes an afternoon and evening of music they describe as "a blend of jazz and dub by normal stage & oliver emitt to techno into the night by varuna agosti & vince watson, the artists will provide you with beautiful soundscapes through dj sets and lives”. Support your local collective and label.

VBX x Kalahari Oyster Club @ Tillatec
VBX are teaming up with Kalahari Oyster Cult, record label from Rey Colino. We are spoiled to have such a nicely curated lineup, highlights for me are Paquita Gordon cuz she has this way to draw you into her set that makes you never want to leave, Muallem (Blitz club founder) and Ion Ludwig.

MARICAS x Bass for Dykes @ Raum
What a great matchup of FLINTA collectives. Sultry sexy house upstairs, basssss downstairs.

5 Years of Pax @ Radion
Pax needs no introduction in the sub, back for another edition in their home base Radion to celebrate their 5th year.

Bordello a Parigi @ Noorderlicht
Worth mentioning because this is a fantastic lineup for all Disco and Italo Disco peeps, hosted in Noorderlicht, a nice waterfront venue in NDSM, offering space for open air dancing. If you’re into this kind of music, you will be served.

Zenith & U Festival @ De Nijverheid
12-hour day n night celebration of Utrecht creative scene with many local names. I love De Nijverheid  as a venue but I’ve only been there for concerts a few times, so I’m curious how they transform the venue to host all these dj sets and live performances.

I can’t think much of Sunday events to mention, so please do add them in the comments.

That’s it. Enjoy your weekend and the nice weather, have fun and take care of each other. <3

“No Silence Left” documentary

From the directors instagram:

We wanted to share the poster of No Silence Left, a documentary @ines.vm_ collaborated on with @behaerd, @industria.official and @hello_mrs_frank ( @futurefrank.xyz ) over the past year.

When I met Lucas H more than a year ago, we spoke about this important story that needed to be told. A few months later, he took me to Georgia together with Lucas W, where we met the incredible @architect.msc @highlimiter_ @pierce.prc @script.ms @uvall_ and their families, including the lovely Elga, who you see on the poster. We listened to their stories about music, identity, and the political reality they navigate every day…

Behaerd organised / organise events in Amsterdam (and Georgia). Keep an eye on this interesting story and on all the oppressed in the music scene we love.

Private fines for bringing drugs to festivals. Boycott festivals that do this

TL;DR: Private companies are now fining festival visitors for drug possession, without the legal safeguards that apply to police. Festivals profit from these fines, the system is terrible for harm reduction, and visitors are barely informed. Read the fine print, report it here if you encounter it, and consider boycotting festivals that participate.

NRC published a genuinely disturbing investigation today. At several Dutch festivals, visitors caught with drugs are no longer necessarily handed over to the police. Instead, they are taken to a private company called ThinkTwice, pressured into signing an agreement and made to pay a “fine” of up to €600 on the spot.

This is not a fine imposed under criminal law. The company claims that bringing drugs onto the site breaches the festival’s terms and conditions, and that the visitor therefore owes the organizer compensation. The festivals pay ThinkTwice for its presence and then receive more than half of the money collected from visitors. ThinkTwice keeps the rest.

So yes, festival organizers are financially benefiting from catching their own visitors.

According to NRC, people are presented with a choice: sign and pay, or potentially be handed over to the police. They may be warned about questioning and a criminal record, even though a professor of criminal procedure interviewed by NRC points out that the Dutch Public Prosecution Service usually does not prosecute possession of a small amount for personal use. There is no right to a lawyer in the room, no independent oversight, no proper testing of the substance and no clear external standard for how the amount is calculated. ThinkTwice decides what counts as an “unit” itself.

The broader development is even worse. Municipalities are outsourcing powers that belong with the police to private companies, several of which are run by current or former police officers. These companies can interrogate people, confiscate substances, impose financial penalties and threaten escalation to the actual police, without being bound by the same rules, safeguards or oversight as the police.

Private companies performing police work for profit is a road towards fascism. That may sound dramatic, but what else do you call a system in which coercive power is handed to commercial actors, visitors have barely any meaningful legal protection, and both the company and the event profit financially from punishment?

Basically, this company threatens random visitors with ruining their lives, without having even found drugs on them yet and without offering any legal counsel. This is not acceptable.

It is also disastrous from a harm reduction perspective. Repressive drug policies do not magically stop people from using drugs. Even ThinkTwice admits it has no evidence that its system reduces use. It may simply make people hide their drugs better. Worse, visitors who become unwell may hesitate to approach medical staff because they are afraid of being caught, fined or handed over. NRC reports that plain-clothes “spotters” were walking around festival sites looking for prohibited behaviour, despite ThinkTwice claiming it does not search for drug users inside events.

This destroys the trust that harm reduction depends on. People need to be able to seek help immediately and without fear when something goes wrong.

ThinkTwice has already operated at SuperSized Kingsday, Harmony of Hardcore and ReBirth. NRC reports that Dominator, Festyland and Decibel Outdoor are also planning to use it. Of course, these are not festivals this subreddit focuses on. But we can never be sure the venues and festivals we love won't be next because municipalities pressure them. We have to stop this.

Please read the terms and conditions before buying a festival ticket. Organisers are hiding this shit in the fine print and then pretending that everyone has freely agreed to it. If you encounter ThinkTwice, private drug fines, plain-clothes spotters or anything similar at an event, share it on this subreddit.

And most important: BOYCOTT THESE FESTIVALS. Do not attend them. Do not buy tickets. Do not support organizers who turn their own visitors into a revenue stream for private policing.

Of course I don’t want to harm organizers who are putting their hearts in creating something beautiful. But in this capitalist world, most of the influence we have comes from where we choose to spend, or not spend, our money. Festivals that introduce private policing and turn punishment into a revenue model should feel the consequences of that decision. Don’t buy a ticket. Tell them why.

The full NRC article is in Dutch:

wildeburg sunday

Hi, I was thinking of going to Wildeburg but just on Sunday. I see on the planning there is no program for the night of Sunday. The festival and the music stops strictly at 23? And everyone goes to their tent and leaves in the morning? Or does the party continue :D what was the experience last years? Thanks

Nous'klaer festival has been canceled last minute and needs your help

Nousklaer festival has been canceled at the last minute because of the heat. After the heat of yesterday the municipality has decided to withdraw their permit at the last minute. See this post by them.

Because of the weather forecast and the last minute cancellation they had to make a ton of costs that can not be reimbursed.

Nousklaer is one of the few festivals that is fully independent and supports local artists all the time. If you care about music or our scene please consider donating to their gofundme.

Never Asked For The Name of This Random Encounter :-(

To the Earth Science graduate from Gouda wearing bat earrings I met at the Multipla Closing Weekender Saturday morning:

I can’t believe we could have had such a nice conversation and not asked for eachother’s names! I guess exhaustion really gets to us sometimes lol.

Hoping by some miracle this post finds you and we might speak again.

Weekly Party Discussion | 26 - 28 June 2026

Warning: Please read the weekly with care this week

My dearest lovely dancers, as you may or may not have heard a beloved member of our community has sadly passed away at the Waking Life festival this past week. Our hearts and minds go out to her family and friends, and to those who were present at the festival.

Her family has a gofundme to assist with costs, which you can find here:

Go Fund Me - Sartianna Kasno

As always, if you need support or someone to talk to, please visit u/nightlifecarenetwork https://nachtburgemeester.amsterdam/Nightlife-Care-Network

It feels a bit odd to write the weekly after such sad news, but here we are.

My dearest lovely dancers,

EDIT: It’s code red and all bets are off- please please please be careful and take care of each other. Hydrate and don’t overdo it. Heat stroke is a sneaky mistress and you won’t realize you’re in trouble until it’s too late. I’d like to see you all back here next week, even if you disagree with my weekly choices 😎

Amsterdam is melting. In the wake of cancelled day festival tickets amid peak festival season, the city is serving indoor raves, courtyard dances, and temperatures that have absolutely no business being in the Netherlands. With code orange code red in effect and dance floors guaranteed to be hotter than ever, consider this your reminder to hydrate as enthusiastically as you plan to party. Sunscreen before the queue, water between sets (or just constantly), and maybe divert away from your usual head to toe black.... unless you're committed to the aesthetic. Here's where the best community in the city will be making our questionable decisions:

Friday

Mindscape @ Lofi: Andy Martin, Luna Ludmila, nthng, VNTM, .VRIL

If deep, hypnotic techno had a love language this would be it. Nthng is serving melancholy in the best possible way while VNTM will bring the live energy. The rest of the lineup is more than capable of keeping Lofi locked into the sweet spot between complete magic and "I'll just stay for one more hour." Really curious about this one!

Multipla Club Closing Weekender

Multipla's closing feels like more than just another venue shutting its doors, it's the end of a space that quietly became a hub for our scene. Originally launched in the former Club Atelier buliding, it combined a restaurant, bar, listening space, and club under one roof. They booked more local collectives and gave crews the freedom to curate their own nights, blurring the lienes between dancing, dining, and gathering. I've actually only been to Multipla once for PsyRom, but enjoyed the venue and know it will be missed by our community. For the farewell they're throwing a 48 hour closing weekender and have invited more than 35 artists and 14 different collectives. They're offering a "tanks" ticket so you can come and go throughout the weekend and make the most of your top sets. There's. little hint at the end of their post: " Soon there will be no roof at all." IYKYK.

Saturday

LASTER x TILLATEC Summer Edition - Philippa Pacho, Sandrien

The Madrid club LASTER is checking into Amsterdam for the weekend and they're bringing excellent company. Philippa Pacho has been collecting hearts across Amsterdam and fans across Europe with relentless grooves and big energy, while Sandrien remains one of Amsterrdam's undisputed selectors. International collab? We approve.

Vault Sessions x RADION - Alarico ANL

Vault sessions and Radion together always makes sense. Alarico continues his reign of groovy, no-nonsense techno. If you're looking for immaculate sound and a crowd that came to dance, you've found your match.

Alarico & Friends After Hours

For those allergic to actually going home after a party, Alarico keeps the party alive after the lights come on. Smaller room, longer sets, fewer phones, and more stories you'll only sort of remember by Monday.

Rush Hour Store Crew @ SkateCafe

Not every affair needs 145 BPM. The Rush Hour crew is taking over Skatecafe with the kind of selections that remind everyone why record nerds are record nerds. Expect house, disco, funk, techno, and enough musical flexing to completely confuse your Shazam app and mix up your Spotify wrapped.

Sunday

I've only got one event for Sunday: Omen Wapta @ Garage Noord

Some people choose Sunday for meal prepping, others choose one final journey onto the dance floor before facing reality again (I, for one, am a huge fan of the Sunday dance). This will be your last chance to postpone the Monday scaries. Omen Wapta is perfect for this, witting outside of the peak-time dance floor energy, they focus on blending experimental, dub, and live performances along side the techno sets. For this Sunday's event you can find Gi, Nera Eszaid, Marco Maldarella, and of course Woody92 behind the decks, with the first two being live sets.

Alright, whether you're saying goodbye to Multipla, catching your first weekend sunrise in awhile (or a week), or just popping out for a few hours (sure sure, we believe you), have fun, please take care of each other, and don't forget that everyone appreciates a lack of yapping on the dance floor. XOXO

Club Levenslang sold and reopening with 2-3 floors.

I recently got the news that Levenslang has been sold to the company behind Intercell (Artists for President) and has received new permits for a second stage. They also received another permit that lets them use the large space they use during ADE for a fixed number of parties during the year (I believe 12, but don't quote me.)

As of this month the club will no longer be hosting any parties until August 1st, as they are revamping the entire layout of the original space. I have heard that they are going to remove the bar and even the brewery that is there to make more space for the dancefloor, and moving the DJ to another position.

I've seen that Multisex is hosting a party there in September, I'm curious to see what they will do with the place.

What are your thoughts?

Are there typically things to do Mon - Wed?

I will in Amsterdam for a few days in early July and looking for some house / techno. Will there be much to do on Mon - Wed? I don't see many options on RA.

The Sun Can’t Compare

By Larry Heard, Mr. White

This track has been stucked in my head for awhile now, but I can not recall when, where, or who was playing it. But I believe it was recently in Amsterdam.

Does someone maybe know and can help me identify? 👀

Thank you xxx
