What do you mean it’s already ADE? Fuck me cuz we haven't even recovered from the summer yet.
First of all let's start with a definition, what is ADE Wednesday?
- It’s that moment when you walk into an event and some intern hands you a tiny plastic cup of warm champagne.
- It’s lowkey the only ADE day where Pro Pass holders feel like they have a good return on investment.
- It’s when you buy an early entrance and have to show up at the club at 11pm and it’s only you and the smoke there.
- It’s the day where you try to take it chill, cause come on it's wednesday, but ooops you're at bar san francisco having your fifth beer at 9pm.
Going through the ADE program is the definition of overstimulation. So many awful AI generated party descriptions (“an immersive journey through sound and soul” ok bro give me a break). So many awful posters (the chatgpt generated ones, I’m looking at you and taking notes, the recycled ADE yellow designs, get your shit together). So many random parties (not in a good way, yes i’m judging) that slap the ADE name on top of their posters. So many venues I’m hearing about for the first time (I know this can be cool sometimes, but all these cocktail bars, intimate burger places, restaurants and cafes suddenly transforming into a “club” uhhh nah). Scrolling through that endless list has brought up my cynical side and it made me not impressed at all by all this but yeah okay it’s the 🎻30 years of ADE and it’s a “celebration of nightlife”🎻. OH YES let’s celebrate nightlife with parties at cocktail rooftop bars, 90 eur early bird phase 1 entrance, with legendary detroit techno dj, that will arrive 1h late, will play for 30 min, and fuck up the whole mix, wow I’m so excited please tell me more.

LASTER presents KLOCKWORKS 20 YEARS @ Tilla Tec
This is the pick if you “hey i’m visiting amsterdam this weekend with my partner, we love techno and berghain, how is the door policy at tilla tec? We read great things about tilla in the sub and we want to experience it before it closes, is there a dark room?”. But yes, if you want to go all out on wednesday, this literally the party for that, no brainer.

Creatures Of The Night - ADE Label Special @ Bar Theo
This is the pick if you want to “party” but also chill in a bar or like if you wanna have a smoke in the street, meet people and ask them “so what are you doing this ADE?”. Honestly perfect for a Wednesday, you can brag about the events you want to go to, test how your opinions are received, you can rant about how much it’s expensive this year, you can tell the tourists about ticketswap and check what others have to say. Also, night shop near the venue if you wanna buy ciggies.
Frenzy x RAW @ RADION
This is the pick if you wanna go test out how your techno two step bounce is doing, you know the one i’m talking about. Great warmup for a wednesday. Both collectives are a great match musically (i think), at least your techno bounce could work great for both and you will meet people that love "hardgroove". I don’t know though how to feel about Raw after checking their socials, not my cup of tea for sure but you might like it.

This is the event I'm most excited about. If you've ever stood at 11am coming out of your 3rd party, in noord, looking at the ferry coming at you, still high, now think of this scene but in a dance form.
Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest x EINDER by Boris Acket @ Centrale Markthal
This is the pick if you wanna sound pretentious about your ADE pick. Lowkey this sounds epic, 70 frickin musicians inside that big markthal with a giant moving fabric installation, not only you can be pretentious but for a good reason, so much that people won’t notice the pretentiousness and think you’re cultured.
Outside of all this, there’s pop up recordshops in Filth by sistergroove_, in Bar Theo by Clone Records, (and others, will add more when I see interesting ones).
