Found the magnetic strip on my <2 month old bank card has been annihilated by various debris stuck to my magnetic card holder.
Girlfriend wound up paying our tab at a nice restaurant about 20 minutes before I proposed to her (she still said yes)
EDIT: This IS a chip/tap-to-pay card. I couldn't control how the waiter inserted my card. I even had him try a second time.
