My heart says "go shoot!", but my body says "nope". Is a tripod the answer?
Old and decrepit here, so it's getting tougher to hold a rifle steady and doesn't take long for the joints to pack it in. It's got me thinking about a tripod of some sort, to be used with 22's and a Henry Homesteader.
I see a couple different styles available; a simple yoke that requires you to provide additional support, and a locking clamp on a ballhead.
Care to offer your pros and cons on either system? The ballhead and clamp setup seems the clear choice for me but is significantly more expensive so I'd love to hear from someone who has tried them. Any adverse effects to the firearms after longterm use of the vice setup?
BOG DeadShot and DeathGrip are readily available in my area, any insight on that brand and those products?
