What is a new build in regards to the new CGT rules?
Gov said that new builds are exempt and can still use the old 50% CGT discount. Do we know what the Gov mean by new builds?
I understand a new build means a property built on vacant land etc.
But does it mean new builds purchased from 1st July 2027?
What about someone buying a "new build" on 1st Dec 2024 (as an example). Would that property still count as a "new build" (because it is) when selling in the future (example selling in 2030)?
Or does new build only apply to new build properties purchased after 1st July 2027? And everything purchased before that date (even if it was technically a brand new build) would count as "established/existing" property and cannot use the old 50% CGT?
