How do contestants keep fire going all night or seemingly forever

Its been a while, and Im trying to rewatch it now, but I remember vaguely a few contestants in S8 specifically that either kept fires going all night or seemingly have their fires going the whole time due to them not bringing a ferro rod and using friction fire starting

Just wondering are they able to do it. What kind of strategies they used

Edit: I think it was colter? That opted out of the firesteel and kept a fire going the whole time

Battery problem, with airplane mode ( Read more)

The battery performance is concering. This is a 9a with graphene installed.

Notes:

- I have it on airplane mode most of the time, still drains unreasonably fast. Other phones would almost last indefinitely with airplane mode. ( Location off, all the things)

- Im on a trip so, I especially turnt off EVERY background usage and still....

- If any battery tips ive most likely done it, could be a core issue. ( Vibration, haptic bla bla)

- I only have 2 profiles, first empty, second with gplay installed

-- I have very few apps and all of them I turnt off background

( Ill edit for more if I think of anything, or any questions you guys have)

+ 4g, lte whatever, I enabled it long ago and it helped a lot

+ Im not sure, its all observational feels like its a recent thing that it started to drain a lot.
