Food this season seems more available.

Having watched every season of alone. This season seems even more "food friendly" than most. I'm not going to say it's just "these people are more skilled" because past participants have been famously able. A lot has to do with location and availability.

I like the variety, but I'm sure some past contestants are like "oh c'mon!!!".

Intro?

We are binge watching the show and now we’ve hit season six. Finding it a bit annoying there is no episode to intro the contestants and the location. I wonder why ?

Looks like the producers have stopped ex-contestants

We used to have Tenta Outdoors, Temojin, etc discuss the happenings on the show each week and discuss contestants' strategies and compare to their own experiences out there. Also, our boy Dub had announced the week before the show he was going to do a weekly show. Now radio silence from all of them. No updates. No "Well, I got busy ..."

It appears the show has outlawed the former contestants discussing the show.

If so, This is such a bad decision. These foks enhanced the viewing experience and ar part of the fabric of the community, you'd think the producers would understand they enhance the community of the show and provide a unique context for viewers/fans of the show. And you'd think the show would be on board with former contestants building a brand, which in turn helps the show itself grow.

Maybe an ex-contestant can jump in here and confirm / deny this but it seems like maybe they were warned against doing so. Either way, bad deal!

Delta vs Lakes

Sorry for the stupid question, but I am not a fisherman.

If I had to guess, I would presume that the delta is going to be a better fishing spot. However, what kind of animal life would be found in all of those lakes?

Absolutely loving this season's contestants

In the midst of E03 right now. And I have to say, this set of contestants contains a lot of very interesting and effective looking contestants. The "international" aspect seems to have delivered quite a few strong candidates with very refreshing perspectives on why they're participating, and what they hope to achieve.

E03's featured contestants are at least pretty impressive.

Ziga's Moose Call

Every time Ziga does a moose call I can't help but bust out laughing. It absolutely kills me how sexual it is. It's more of a loud sexual moan than a moose call. I love it!

Overall, really enjoying this season. Lots of great personalities and strong survival so far.

Favorite Runner Up

I really wanted Callie to win more than anyone else! I was also rooting for Dub (not runner up but close), Timber - and all of the rest of the female runner ups lol (biased woman over here).

I've always wondered how much more difficult it is for women due to periods and having to leave their shelters to pee. That has to put them at a disadvantage..

"The bears can smell the menstruation" Brick, Anchor Man. 🤣

Has this season been the most successful for early food?

Have only seen 5 or so seasons but this season seems absolutely abundant for early hare and squirrel catches, fish etc. It seems the key success is snares for early gameplay it's the least taxing physically as well.

I'm not familiar with the practice, but is there a certain way to assess a good place to put a snare or are they just scattering them about? The guy who built an animal bridge across a small stream to snare it was ingenious.

Season 13 looooong episodes!

I am loving all the amazing content we are getting this season! I’m wondering if the extra long episodes this season is a sign that it’s gonna go past 100 days… Without a doubt it shows what an excellent job everyone has done with both their survival skills and filming/storytelling skills.

Does Alone get easier with each season?

As the seasons progress, I notice there is some overlap, contestants will copy what worked from previous seasons. I think that is brilliant and should be done, but I do wonder, as the base of survival knowledge builds with each season, is it getting progressively easier? In particular I think Jordan and Rowland have added a lot of bushcraft knowledge to the show

Even so, the mental, psychological challenge, a person can’t prepare for that. Doesn’t really matter how much knowledge a person has, if his/her mind can’t take being alone, they don’t last long

Question about Will?

Sorry, he seems to be playing his cards close to his chest….. what indigenous group is he from? He hasn’t mentioned it at all?

All joking aside, sick house.

Yeah science!!!!

I don't think we've seen a contestant taking a legit scientific approach to being on alone. Very interested to see this season unfold

What would be your story?

Everybody’s going through or has gone through something traumatic. The show is a clear example of how when we’re alone, we are stuck with our thoughts. Sometimes it forces contestants to face something they haven’t dealt with and other times it’s gives them perspective that they weren’t able to see until they were alone.

Right before Christmas last year, I received a text from my mother (64) saying “I need help”. She was in a rehab facility (basically a nursing home) getting therapy because she had some weakness after a case of pneumonia. Once I got in touch with her she told me she wanted to go to the hospital but they wouldn’t call 9-1-1. Once I got there, the nursing director tried to talk me out of sending her for almost an hour. I finally threatened to call myself and they sent her. She ended up dying the next day from sepsis.

The “I need help” message haunts me all the time. I just know I would lose it once I’m alone in the middle of nowhere.

If you’d like/need to share, what’s your story?

If History Channel made a special edition of Alone…

For people that have watched every episode and own a 22 year old Kelty sleeping bag, a 17 year old Eddie Bauer tent they bought from Target, an unused ferro rod they bought at REI on a whim, and waterproof muck boots, and dropped them in the Ozark mountains about 10 miles from the closest town, I can’t say I’d win, but I’d definitely qualify.

Season 13 Episode 3: "I'm terrible at remembering who is who and what they've done" recap cheat sheet!

Hey guys and gals, I'm back with my episode 3 recap, I've also included a spreadsheet listings all of the kills.

Please keep suggesting things that are worth noting that I might have missed; I am updating with some of your suggestions.

Again, apologies for any spelling, grammar, punctuation, or other errors; I was documenting as I was watching.

And as always, please be kind and respectful towards the contestants, they're real human being just like the rest of us.
