Competitors offering better pricing than my renewal rate — what can Xfinity offer?
Current Xfinity customer since 2022 here. My 2-year promo pricing is ending in June, and my bill for my plan (Fast Plan, 500 Mbps) will jump from $55/month (currently discounted from the regular $89 rate with autopay and promo credits) to about $95/month.
Considering the price increase, I’ve looked at other internet options in my area:
- T-Mobile Amplified Home Internet: 500 Mbps for $60/month with a 5-year price guarantee, plus a free month and $200 cashback.
- Mint Internet: 415 Mbps for $40/month with a 5-year price guarantee (bundled with my existing Mint Mobile service).
I live in a downtown area with excellent 5G coverage, so both wireless options are realistic alternatives.
I’m not interested in adding any mobile service.
I also noticed that new residents in my building currently have access through our resident portal to the following Xfinity plans:
- 300 Mbps for $45/month with a 5-year price guarantee
- Gigabit Internet for $70/month with a 5-year price guarantee
I’ve genuinely been happy with the reliability of Xfinity service, but it’s difficult to justify paying more than both competitors and new customers in the same building for similar or better service.
