I know we as fans love to nitpick every decision a character makes. It’s fun, and super easy in a sitcom where decision making is heightened to an extreme level and easy to pick apart. But one of the things so many people hate about Amy specifically, about how she handles her situation with Jonah, I think makes her and her relationship with him one of the strongest points of the series.
Simply put, the first time they kiss (during the tornado) Amy brushes it off and doesn’t want to talk about it. The second time, (right when she tells him she’s pregnant) Jonah wants to brush it off and Amy pushes the topic. It’s annoying, and hypocritical of Amy in both instances. But I think it makes their chemistry and relationship that much more believable. People are damn messy, emotions are not neat, and people make weird or downright awful decisions sometimes.
I watch a lot of sitcoms, as do most of us I’m sure lol. And I think Ben and America’s chemistry is some of the best in sitcom history. These messy moments make me love their relationship even more. Thoughts?
