[Console][JRPG?][2000's?] A Game I Briefly Played When I was Younger

This was a long time ago and I barely remember anything about it. Even so, I'm happy to hear any suggestions and compare them. I doubt I'll find it again, haha. Also, keep in mind that some or most of these details may not be quite correct. This was several years ago, after all.

  1. Anything about the game I remember and describe below would only be the first 1-3 hours, as I barely played it, but for some reason still remember its existence.
  2. I would've played it on console. If I had to guess, PS2, Xbox, or Gamecube, around that era. I owned most of the consoles growing up so I wouldn't be surprised if it was for something else.
  3. Early gameplay took place in a massive tower, building, or structure of some kind. I remember there being a lot of sky visible at points so it was probably floating up high, or maybe on an island. It wasn't an airship or anything like that, I'm pretty sure, you just got to spend some time on the various platforms outside of and connected to the structure. The structure had a fantasy (perhaps with some advanced technology too) feel to it, like ancient ruins? There might've been some neon or brightly colored interactable environmental objects dotted around too, perhaps sliding blocks or some kinds of mechanisms that you were meant to solve to proceed?
  4. I feel like the art direction/aesthetic might've been on the "fuzzy/bloomy brown" side of things, like Twilight Princess, Chaos Legion, or Ico?
  5. I don't remember if there was actually any combat or not in the short time I played it. If there was, I think it was a bit sparse. It might've leaned more on walking, exploration, or otherwise traversal?
  6. It was either a third-person camera angle that you manually controlled, or something of a varied camera angle that followed you from cinematic angles (think Classic Final Fantasy 7 for the latter). Male protagonist.
  7. I remember traveling through the structure, and at points your character communicated with as-of-yet met allies (one or more) through some telepathy, magic, phone, or earpiece (I don't remember how, just that the allies weren't physically present?) I don't think I played long enough to actually meet the allies, though. I think it was voice acted, too.
  8. I think the reason I eventually put it down back then was because there was so much conversation or plot, or perhaps just too slow a pacing, or maybe just too much puzzling and walking. Not enough action?
  9. I feel like the vibe was a bit... slower, or perhaps more realistic. Not especially comical or energetic? Perhaps even slow and pensive, like a puzzle or exploration game.
  10. I found the game in my school library to be loaned/rented, so it very well could have been extremely niche.

I'll update the post as I remember more and as I answer your comments.

^((Worst case scenario, I don't find the game but we all discover some weird old games together, haha.))
