Apologies in advance, I know this is very basic question.

My query is: what exactly is official ADHD diagnosis in context of India? I know that candidates need to go to psychologists for 'official adhd diagnosis' and then share the said report with psychiatrist who can prescribe related medicines. Now, is that report considered 'official adhd diagnosis' report? Is it mandatory to produce report from a psychologist to get meds? Can't psychiatrists prescribe meds by themselves? Now, after some time, say 2 years, if I move to a different state, will I be able to use the old diagnosis report with the new doctor?

Also, afaik, most western countries consider adult ADHD as learning disability and some benefits apply to the candidates. There's no such provision in India. Even the international standard ADHD med - Adderall is not available in India. So, what's the use of official diagnosis? Can't doctors (psychiatrist) prescribe meds based on their experience with you?
