If you could redesign VPS / GPU VPS / dedicated server offerings from scratch, what would you fix?

I’m doing some product-side research and would genuinely love to hear your unfiltered takes. No brand, no pitch — just trying to understand where current hosting products let you down, what makes you switch, and what you wish existed.

A few prompts to get the frustration flowing:

The moment you knew you had to move up: Was it a traffic spike that crashed your site? A client contract that demanded bare metal? A cron job that got killed for using too much CPU? What was the final straw?

The spec guessing game: How do you decide on vCPUs, RAM, storage type (NVMe vs. SSD vs. HDD), and bandwidth? What information do providers not give you that would make this choice easier and less risky?

GPU instance wishlist: If you’ve used or considered GPU VPS — what’s the biggest pain? Limited card availability, confusing pricing, driver hassles, or something else entirely? What would an ideal GPU offering look like for your AI/ML, rendering, or gaming workload?

Dedicated server realities: What surprised you after you finally got a dedicated box? Anything you assumed was included but turned out to be an extra cost or hidden limitation?

The small things that drive you crazy: Opaque pricing, terrible network peering, lack of custom ISO support, silent throttling, slow support that only sends canned replies, missing API endpoints… what makes you want to scream?

Think of this as a collective “hosting product therapy” session. All rants, stories, and “why hasn’t anyone fixed this yet?” moments are welcome. Your insights might even help someone else recognize when it’s time to move on from their current setup.

Thank you for your share.
