ok so for context i’ve been waitlisted by columbia, and i feel like i should’ve been rejected especially since my stats aren’t good. i have friends with stats much stronger than mine who were rejected. i don’t have any crazy awards just 1 regional and school level awards, my ecs are school related and weak outside of school ones, i’m not valedictorian, and my gpa wasn’t even a perfect 4.0.

i feel like it’s because i put down how i have a convo with a member of the admission department at this workshop i did at columbia. which is why i feel like they felt like they just had to give me a soft rejection aka waitlist.

i’m just curious as to see if this a courtesy waitlist bc i need to force myself to move on from this.
