Right to Belong Platform
My name is David Alton and I am running for Mayor.
On June 20th community members created the Right to Belong platform. I would love some help spreading the word about these calls to action so we can pressure more candidates to adopt them.
On dignity:
Adopt human rights lens and language
Conduct equitable access review
Build more public bathrooms
Pilot basic income initiatives
On safety:
Upgrade key facilities into safety hubs
Set up a hub for people returning from incarceration
Resume safe consumptions sites
Adopt peace city declaration
On meaning making:
Envision arts and culture master plan
Enable indigenous spaces
Revive downtown community spaces
Launch public education fund
Embed localized language services
Consolidate holiday support fund
Empower public dance programming
