2024 Asus G16 - 4080 Gaming Performance?
Hello everyone,
I have a 2024 Asus G16 with the RTX 4080. I am not a AAA games player, all I play is Siege and Valorant. I went from a desktop to the laptop over the last year and always counted the performance hit to just being a laptop. However, the more I think about the specs, I am wondering if I am getting way less performance than I should considering the rig I am running?
I am running through a Thunderbolt dock to hook up all my peripherals and monitor (still supports 240 hz) into an LG Monitor at 3840x2160 resolution. I am only getting about 150-200 fps at best on lowest settings with running G-Helper to push extra performance and a laptop fan underneath.
I know the processor and graphics card underclocked but I am not willing to try a BIOS flash to try and eek out the extra performance because I don’t really consider Valorant a AAA game despite the migration to UE5.
Am I just crazy or does someone else with the same laptop as me get way better performance than I am experiencing?
