My veitchii JF-002 finally getting bigger

Got this exactly one year ago when it was just a wee lad :3. it's really slow growing and produces a new pitcher every 2-3 months. This pitcher is about 80% bigger than the last one.

Bonus miranda uppers in the background

My mini bog is getting crowded :3

This bog is in its third season of spring right now :)

the Darlingtonia made the biggest jump in growth and the Sarracenia went bonkers with the flowers.

couldn't be happier with this.

I used 100% peat and topped it with living sphagnum. there's water storage built in which will last a week during the summer.

Nature’s escape room has fake exits

Those pale patches are not just pretty patterning. They are translucent “windows” that act like fake exits.

Inside the cobra lily, the real opening is hidden under the hood. Many insects try to escape by moving toward light, so they go for the bright windows instead of the actual exit. They technically could leave if they found the opening, but the plant tricks them into choosing the wrong direction until they end up deeper in the trap.
