Is this a good set up?

I believe this is a trumpet pitcher plant the leaves on top are a little hard so I want to make sure it isn’t dying on me.

I have spagnum moss and the right dirt in there with distilled water I have a grow light since my window doesn’t provide enough sun for it it’s the “Good Earth” brand an LED Full spectrum light.

A letter to my bog gardens

Dear bogs,

Thank you for being a cozy home for my plants. They appreciate you. I appreciate you. For that reason, I could never shove an unsightly pvc pipe into you or slap a flower pot in the middle of your essence and waste your valuable space. You prefer to be top watered because it’s like a breath of fresh air for you. When I manage you properly you reward me with huge rhizome gains and more pitchers. It’s going to be 92° today which is a cake walk for you so I hope you all have a great.

Carnivorously Yours,

Bogtimus Prime

Plz rec 0PPM table top device

I’m tired of buying bottled water! My house also uses distilled for a device but it requires 0PPM water. Can anyone recommend a good one that produces 0PPM water in the US? Thank you!

Are these the same kind of nepenthes?

I’ve had these two in my care for about two weeks and they both seem to be relatively happy, though one has very compact growth with thick leaves and shorter pitchers, while the other is much leggier with longer deeper pitchers. Ive heard nepenthes get morphed around a lot like philodendrons, so I was just curious if anyone had any knowledge to give!

Edit: Any fun name ideas are very welcome 😆😖

Pinguicula Help

We bought this to help with the summer gnats and it was looking good the first week, but has been on a steady decline ever since. We've been giving it filtered water, lots of sun (but not enough to burn) and even made a humidity chamber for it. The leaves stay sticky when in the chamber, but if we take it out overnight they dry up again.

Don't want to kill it, but unsure how to save it 😭

More mouths to feed (eventually)

Flower stalk propagation. One of my Flexx's threw up a flower stalk sometime last month. Chopped it, planted it, this is how it's doing now (19 Aug). First picture is the Flexx it came from which funnily enough, came from a flower stalk propagation I had from a friend some time ago.

N. robcantlyie closing its leafs

Im looking for i put of why my N. robcantlyie is closing its leafs. It started doing that when the person having the responsability to care for it didint do a great job, and it never stopped doing it even after 3 whole year after i took it back under my care. Is it because of constant dehydration? Too much light? The plant have been repotted a year or year and a half ago, the new big pot was a lot bigger than the one before, but the substrat was about 60%perlite and 40%sphag if i remember correctly, maybe 65%-35% even. Also about the pot, the roots are still not reaching the side of the pot i think. It also did two flower since the repot but i cut them to not ask too much energy from the plant (last time was a month ago). Since i let someone else take care of it 3 years ago she never got completly healty like before.

Where to buy Pinguicula in Europe?

I have seen that the american market has GORGEUS Pings. Such is the case with Rainbow carnivores, California Carnivores among many others.

I was wondering if any of you know where can I buy pings here in Europe. I feel here the diversity is not that big and only few nurseries have a good range of pings for sale.

Happy growing and thanks for all your help! :)

Pd: here you have a P. Grandiflora I found im the wild!

My Drosera magnifica!

It was half this size when I got it in July 2024, and has been growing steadily the last 3 years, even in traditionally slightly less optimal conditions.

Temperatures are usually 75F day, 65F night. Relative humidity hovers around 40-50%. Photoperiod around 14-16 hours during the summer.

Hi everyone, I'm new to taking care of carnivorous plants and I would like to ask if it's okay to use live sphagum moss and perlite as the soil?

New to carnivorous plants

I am interested in creating a terrarium with Sundews and Bladderworts. I have an old aquarium that is 24”x12”x16”, As of right now i want to put Drosera Capensis, drosera spatulata, and drosera tomentosa in the terrarium (please suggest some of your fav hardy and interesting looking Bladderwort or Sundew) but I’m not sure how much I would have to water them or how often, I also do not know what light I should get, how far apart should I plant each plant or should I plant some of them in clumps, could I grow moss across the substrate? Any help is appreciated!

More photos of the alien Drosera floridana (B.Rice) Juve & A.Fleischm., including instances of rampant seedling recruitment.

Unlike all other members of the D. filiformis complex, seeds of D. floridana do not require a preceding period of cold, wet stratification in order to germinate in significant numbers, and freshly sprouted seedlings can be observed in-situ throughout the year (corresponding with overall reduced seasonal influence on plant phenology). Similar to those of its allopatric northern congener D. filiformis, seeds of D. floridana have a tendency to germinate en-masse from locations where spent and newly prostrate inflorescences contact the sandy substrate and deposit many seeds in close proximity to one another. Few seedling plants present within these dense colonies will outcompete their siblings and reach maturity.
