I haven't kept fancy goldfish in a long time but an 6 year old me with help of my parents did keep 5 thumb sized ones back them that lived for 8 years before i killed them with a bad water change, it's been 12 years since then
I'm planning to keep some in the future since it's been a while
For context, i live in indonesia, and goldfishes has been bred here for around a century, from sellers to Indonesian hobby groups, to breeders, they always recommend it should be kept with heaters where water temp should be around 24-28 celcius instead, while foreign sources suggest they should be kept in 18-24 c instead, so i'm asking if they really don't do well outside of cooler waters
Maybe a spade tail? Was sold to me as speartail though, exactly 3 months old, the first ones that i bought all died, but they did make babies before they were gone
Purchased back in January this year, they don't make much babies, only 5-10 per batch but they're healthy and eats pretty much everything i give em
I want to try keeping assassin snails because i think they are pretty and i have never kept one before, how many snails does it eat per day so that it can stay alive and growing? Do i have to purposefully overfeed my tank so that other snails can multiply for the assassins to eat? Are there any kind of snails they avoid eating that i need to know about? What to feed them if i do run out of snails to feed them? Any other tips aside from my questions are also welcome
not sure what flair i need to put this post in so i tagged it in sickness/disease/parasite
So it's June which is a month long school semester break for kids in Indonesia
one of these little shits found out i kept fish, so he just climbed my fence and took most of my galaxy speartail guppies
went to confront their parents, and get the fish back, ah they're all dying or dead ffs
this is the first time i've dealt with parasitic neighborhood kids, and i've lived here for 5 years, i never expect this to be an issue before
yeah sorry i just need to vent somewhere because i'm pissed
Cleaner knocked a bag of perlite and zeolite, so they swept them up and dumped em in my guppy tank, i tried to remove em the best i can, the zeolite is probably fine since i heard they're used as filter media by some but what about perlite? Since i saw my guppies peck at a few of em, will there be long term consequences to that?
I heard they're good food for snails and fish plus i have a a bush of it, how often should i use it as snail feed? These are meant for some rabbit snails and black panther snails
Tried taking a video of em but my camera is shit
Sold to me as mexican dwarf crayfish but i'm not sure, i've tried buying some before from a different store but was sent baby clarkii crayfish, so i need to make sure these are indeed mexican dwarf crayfish
It's the one live food i can reliably breed easily, asking if fry can eat them, or if not, at what size can they start eating that? Usually they eat either micro pellets or decapsulated artemias, occassionally moinas
I tried to keep some albino guppy breeds and either they only drop little batches or they're really good at hunting their fry i don't know, but i've only ever gotten less than 10 fry per batch, i've added plants for hiding spaces too but they don't seem to be working, what should i do to help with this?
