Confused about a citation on my grandmother's profile on Family Search
I've built most of my family tree on ancestry because family search's interface is sometimes hard for me to figure out. But I go there occasionally because they seem to have access to documents that ancestry doesn't.
There's a source citation on my Canadian grandmother's Family Search profile that says:
"Canada, New Brunswick Registers of Births, ca. 1812-1919" dated with my father's birthday and with my father's and grandfather's names also attached.
However, I know without a doubt that my father was born in Massachusetts. I have his birth certificate from the city where he was born. There are similar citations for his two older brothers, who were also born in Massachusetts. When I click on the source, Family Search takes me to a page where there is a blurred-out document that says "Image Unavailable." I think I've heard this means that I have to go to the physical location of a Family Search Center or Library to see the document.
Under my father's name it says:
| Sex | Male |
|---|---|
| Event Type | Birth |
| Event Date | 25 April 1908 |
| Event Place | Kent, Carleton, New Brunswick, Canada |
| Event Place (Original) | Kent County, New Brunswick, Canada |
| Page Number | 2 148 |
Has anyone here ever encountered this before who can tell me what it means? Did my grandmother maybe register her sons' births with the New Brunswick or Canadian government so that if they wanted in the future they could apply for recognition of citizenship? She also had a daughter who does not have this citation on her profile.
I went to the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick website to search for my father's name and nothing came up.
Can anyone advise me on what this citation means?
Thanks in advance for your help!
