And now I have two guinea pigs. They're sisters!

I'll be honest - I didn't think much would change after I passed my exam. I found out I passed on Tuesday and it's been up since then. Salary went up A LOT (+$8/hr) without asking. Corp company bought my location lunch and are paying for an outing this week, and I received two offers to apply to new jobs that align with my vet tech career goals.

Do the thing y'all. It might take some time but it's rewarding in the end.

Exam in a couple hours. It's 2, 2 hour blocks (4 hours total). Been working towards this goal for years.

And I have a major birthday (ends in an 0) this weekend!

Hopefully I don't profusely sweat and/or have bubble guts.

Image of the baby guinea pig I found a few days ago running around in the street, getting an ultrasound (she's mine now!). Tomorrow I get to meet with the neighbor who found her sister on the same block on the same day. Now I'll have two guinea pigs. Something new for my next decade of life.

What a crazy week it's been.

Found this piggy outside while walking my dogs. With the help of my daughter's friends we were able to safely capture it and bring it inside. I am an LVT but my specialty is oncology and ER. I rarely interact with these little guys unless it's an emergency. What else can I do to keep him (or her) overnight until I go to work on Monday. He's currently in one of my pet carriers safe and warm.

(As the head vet tech at my job I fortunately have a company card so I could use the credit card to buy him things and charge it under hospital pet care)

Why did no one tell me that these Sketchers scrub pants were the best thing since sliced bread?

I just did a 13 hour shift and these pants don't quit. I bought one to test it out and now I'm a believer.
