I had cats while I was growing up and loved them, but don't really remember the kitten stage... I haven't had a cat for about 10+ years now and have a 5 year old daughter who's desperate for a pet.

I'd love to get a cat, but she wants a kitten. She's a very gentle child so I don't have any issues with her terrorising the cat but rather concerned (especially after reading some posts in here) that it might be the other way around!

Not sure I really want to get two cats, but would that be a better idea? Is it more work for me to look after two cats?

For context, I work part time and they would be indoors. So they will have company the majority of the week.
