Verbal offer 2 weeks ago, do you think I still get the contract? [UK] [US]

I got a verbal offer for a job nearly 2 weeks ago and got a verbal offer very quickly after the interview. We discussed salary, notice period and start date, so I thought everything was basically sorted and I was just waiting on the formal contract. It's a UK role but the HR is based in the US. Since then, the recruiter has kept sending positive emails saying things like: “we are still interested in moving forward” “I hope to have an update by COB tomorrow” “just need one more business day” But then those timelines keep passing with no update. I finally got another email today saying they still don’t have the internal clarity needed to confirm whether they can move forward with a formal offer and that they can’t guarantee an offer at this stage. So now I genuinely don’t know what to think because: the communication has stayed positive they never said they don’t want me but the timelines keep slipping and now there’s uncertainty I’m still applying for other jobs and keeping my current role secure, but has anyone experienced something similar after a verbal offer? Did it eventually work out or was it basically the beginning of the end?

I’m looking for honest opinions because I’m getting really confused/anxious about a job situation. [UK]/[US]

I interviewed for a UK-based tech role and everything seemed to go really well. The recruiter (US-based HR team) called me almost 2 weeks ago with a verbal offer, we discussed salary, agreed on a figure higher than the original advertised range, and they told me the team had really positive feedback. Since then though, I still haven’t received a formal contract. The recruiter has continued replying to emails and keeps saying things like: “the team remains very interested” “we’re working through final internal approvals” “I can’t issue the formal contract until approvals are complete” But timelines keep slipping: “tomorrow or Friday” then “early next week” now still waiting To make things worse, I noticed the job was reposted on LinkedIn a couple of days ago, even though they originally said they were hiring 2 people. I still haven’t been rejected, ghosted, or told the role is cancelled, but the whole thing is making me feel like the offer could disappear at any minute. Has anyone experienced something similar, especially with: UK jobs but US-based HR/recruiting teams long delays after verbal offers approval/sign-off delays reposted job ads during hiring Did your offer eventually come through or did it fall apart? Just trying to get realistic opinions because the uncertainty is exhausting

I'm currently 6'2 80.0kg, still have stubborn fat in my stomach, these photos are me completely relaxed no tensing, how far do you think I should cut down to in kg? Old photo is where I started a few years ago at 137kg and in the last 6 months I've lost 25kg alone. Any help would be appreciated.
