New irons or just new shafts
Currently gaming Mizuno Pro 243s that are in good condition. When I originally bought them they were actually a pretty good fit, but since then I’ve gained a lot of speed and gotten stronger, so I don’t think the setup suits me as well anymore as I find they are extremely floaty and can’t feel the club as well within the swing. They currently have 105g stiff shafts in them.
I’m trying to decide what makes the most sense financially and performance wise:
- reshaft the current 243s and get them fit properly
OR
- sell the 243s while they still hold good value and put the money toward a completely new fitted iron set
I’m considering something like a Mizuno combo setup with S3 short irons, but I’m also wondering if a proper shaft fitting would make the 243s feel like completely different clubs
Would appreciate thoughts from anyone who’s gone through this decision.
