What kind of varnish to use on EVA foam ?
Hi everyone! I'm currently working on my new cosplay project, Hornet from Hollow Knight. I just finished making the mask out of EVA foam (you can see it in the photos I added, and of course, I will remove the tape before painting it). I was looking for some advice on the kind of varnish that was to use on EVA foam to add a clear coat of protection and get a nice finish. First, I was planning to use Plastidip as a primer for the paint, then some water-based white spray paint (4th photo), because I was told that regular spray paint could damage the foam over time. Then I bought a (spray) varnish in a French art supplies shop (5th photo), but they didn't have any water-based one. Do you think this is okay to use on EVA foam? I would want my efforts on this mask to go to waste, so is there a risk that the product could eat through or even slightly damage the foam? If yes, what should I use instead?
