Period stopped after 4.5 years?
In November 2021 I had the Mirena inserted to help with extremely heavy periods. For context: In May of that year I was diagnosed with celiac disease, which was most likely the cause of the heavy periods, which had only started earlier that year.
I’ve continued to have light periods since, and have been very regular for the first time in my life. But in March my period, which is typically 5 days, was only 2 days. And then in April and again this month, my period simply hasn’t arrived.
I recently had a complete hormone panel done as part of a PMDD assessment (I have cyclical severe anxiety the week before my period), and everything looked good.
I’m 39 so my first thought was perimenopause but I thought that would show up in the bloodwork.
Anyway, is it possible for periods to stop 4.5 years into using Mirena?
