Secondhand shops sorted by colour

Shopping secondhand is absolutely one of my favourite things to do, particularly in what we call “op shops” here in Australia, which are charity run thrift stores. But my heart sinks when I enter a new op shop, that looked so promising from afar, only to find they’ve sorted all the clothing by colour rather than size.

I’m only interested in clothes that will fit me or other family members, so I’d far prefer to just check the sections for our sizes. I don’t want to spend ages trawling through heaps of items that were never going to fit. And I really don’t want to fall for several items in gorgeous fabrics as I hunt only for them to be completely the wrong size.

When a secondhand shop arranges clothes by colour I pretty much give the racks a super quick eyeball skim and just give up and walk out, but when they arrange by size I’ll look carefully through each item on offer in the categories of interest.

Please secondhand store managers, I’m begging you, arrange your clothes sections by size not colour.
