Taxes on an "affiliated fellowship" for research in Germany

Hi :)
I've been invited to participate remotely, as a practicioner (not academic), in a research project in Germany, starting in September, and I am wondering about the taxes in Belgium.

As this is a temporary position, I'll be executing in a consultant way, and I'll get a compensation fee for this. The person offering me the position says that is tax free and I'd just like to confirm this information.

As a I am currently with unemployment benefits I have asked Actiris about it and they say that I should contact my union. Somehow I am hesitating on whether they might have this information.
Anyone has any experience with this kind of fellowships within Europe? Or any other advice?

I'll appreaciate it!

Going back home and taking all my money with me

Hi :)
After 15 years in Belgium it is time for me to go back home, in the Americas.

I have managed to save quite some money and I am now searching for the best way to transfer all my money into saving and investment accounts over there (nothing has been created yet).

People recommend me Wise for that, however I am wondering if there's a better way to do that. Has anyone experience with it?

In addition, as I leaving for good, I want to take my accumulated retirement fonds as well, I'm wondering if anyone here has applied for early retirement due to a residence change (removal).

I'll appreciate any help :)

One-off job while unemployed

I'm currently unemployed, after ~15 years of service, and have received an offer to provide expert assessment on some documents. It would be max a couple of days for which they are offering a compensation. This is an international well-known organization and it represents a great opportunity for different reasons, so I'm willing to take it.

I'm aware that Smart exists and I'm trying to convince them to do it through it, but given that they're abroad, and don't know it, they seem hesistant (still checking it).

Their preference is to just proceed with a honorarium and deposit the money into my bank account, and then I'll do all the rest by myself.
Is this as simple as it sounds? Do you have any tips or guidance for that all the social insurances, taxes and any other thing to pay to the BE state by myself?
Do I need to consider something else besides marking these days as "worked" in my unemployment card?

Thanks!
