Hard Dog Xtreme installed. Apparently everyone hates these things 😂
Finally got the Hard Dog Xtreme double diagonal in my NB and I swear everyone I show it to has something to say about it lol.
I know it’s a different design and it’s not what most people picture when they think Miata roll bar. I’ve already gotten the “what’s the point of that?” and “that doesn’t look safe” comments.
But this also isn’t a dedicated track car. It’s literally my daily driver the weeks I don’t have my kids. I bought the car for $1,500, put it back together and mostly just want something fun I can drive to work, take through the mountains, or eventually take on a road trip up the Pacific Coast Highway or other similar trips.
I wanted a quality functional roll bar in it without building the whole car around track use and I happened to like the Xtreme, so that’s what I went with, plus it was a marketplace find for a reasonable deal.
I’m 5’10” and my head is a little closer to it than I’d like right now, so next thing is probably a foamectomy on both seats to get me sitting lower.
Anyway, I’m curious what everyone actually thinks of these things on a mostly street driven Miata. And yes, I already know the answer is probably going to be “should’ve bought the regular double diagonal” 😂
