[PC] [~1990 to early 2000] first-person 3D exploration game where you had to distract a guard dog with a bone/meat
I am looking for a very old PC game. It was probably made in the '90s to early '00s, possibly older but definitely not newer. For a better sense of the time frame, I was born in 1993 and was short in stature while watching the game. I was watching my father and eldest brother (born in 1989) playing this on a PC. They also had Scorched Earth (1991) and Doom (1993) on the PC.
I can remember that it's a first-person 3D game but not not all the graphics are 3D; some had flat Doom-like textures. Definitely not point and click; you were able to roam freely.
There's a puzzle where you had to find a bone/meat to give to a dog so that you can access a house. If you don't have that, then the dog will kill you and it's game over. This takes place early on in the game.
Pretty sure the dog was a rottweiler or similar guard dog. The dog is within a fence. Stepping past the fence gate into the yard will quickly get you killed. There may have been basic sound effects, not too sure. The dog scene is outdoors in the daytime. I do not recall any sort of cutscene when you die.
This was not a colorful game. What little you can see of the sky is grey. The house was dark, oldish suburban or cabin. It was not in a typical suburb as you were walking on grass and there were not a lot of houses nearby.
Any leads are appreciated.
