First eMTB . Looking for insight
I’m looking to purchase an e Bike pretty soon here. I have bikes for years, rode lots of hardtails over the years, with a few full suspension bikes I the mix. My last MTB was a Santa Cruz Heckler that I sold in 2020. I’ve been just riding a commuter style bike (Globe Daily) since then. My wife got a Kona Dew-E a couple years ago and she’s been leaving me in the dust on our rides around our city 😅.
So anyway, I am looking at getting an eMTB that can ride on paved paths and smooth gravel double track type trails but will also be able to get me back on some single track and funner trails too.
I was between the Kona Remote hardtail and the Rocky Mountain fusion 10 Powerplay. Unfortunately the remote HT is out of stock now since I waited around for too long. I found a shop with some Remote 130s still in stock so now I am considering one of those too.
I have a few concerns with both though, the Fusion should be great for the light trails and commuting type riding, but the spec is a bit lower (imo) and with the shorter travel Suntour. Also the Dyname motor, should I be worried about support from Rocky?
The Kona seems to be a very nice spec, but the aging e7000 motor was already kind of old when the bike was brand brand new. Is 60nm enough?
