What is your desk set up?

I am a 1:1(or however many students they give me) in lower elementary.
Last year I was given a student desk and had to sit amongst the kids. I was also given a student locket to store everything I needed, including my lunch, coat, snow boots for recess duty and anything else. It’s just the standard in our building as there’s no space for us to have an actual desk/table or real space.
I will have the same set up this upcoming school year and I want to scream.
My desk was an unorganized disaster with stuff constantly falling into my lap because I had no space to store the things I needed. My locker was also a disaster and embarrassing to open because it was so jam packed full of crap. I am a very organized person and can’t function like that for another whole school year. I limited to absolute essentials and it still didn’t work.
What is your desk set up? How do you organize everything?

Working out causing swelling after repair

Backstory:
Due to an abdominal surgery with improper closure(medically proven) and subsequent pregnancy within a year I developed severe diastasis recti.
I was an odd case and since it was primarily caused by improper muscle closure(everything from my belly button down was not closed) physical therapy did not help. After about 4 years it had extended up my entire midline and I developed 2 hernias. At that point my primary referred me to a plastic surgeon who said it was the worst he had ever seen and referred me to the head of plastic and reconstructive surgery at the university of Iowa, he also said he’d never seen a case this bad. My entire abdominal wall had atrophied and he was very blunt in saying I was standing upright and keeping my insides inside by sheer willpower because my muscles were not doing anything. They were not capable of holding a feather upright. Anyway surgery was scheduled since insurance was now willing to pay due to the hernias and he plead the case he needed to fix all of it or I would just keep developing hernias. It took a 6in x 12in piece of coviden progrip mesh to close everything up. I have had nonstop pain and issues from that mesh because it is essentially like a giant piece of Velcro that my muscles grew into and my body does not want it there.
Removal is not possible.
Because of this and some other unrelated conditions I have had a hard time with exercise. I attempted PT everywhere within an hour of me and nothing they worked on was helpful. Most of it was OT, showing me ways to do things without using my abdominal muscles which was the exact opposite of what I was working for.
I am about 5ft, 115lb and have recently gotten back into going to the gym. I’ve really been trying to tone up my belly since the way it is now is just a constant reminder of what I went through and it’s gotten to where it’s causing a lot of back pain.
So now to my actual question:
Has anyone experienced swelling from working out? The more I work those muscles out the more edema and swelling it’s causing around the mesh and it’s causing some pretty significant jolts of pain. I have a drs appointment scheduled in a few weeks to check it out but I am curious if anyone else has had a similar experience.
I’m not doing anything super crazy, abdominal wise just light weight crunches, inclined sit-ups, rows, things like that. But my abdomen is just so painfully swollen and feels like I have a giant bag of jello stuck to me now.
*my repair was 4 years ago now

7 year olds head injury ER visit denied

My 7 year olds swing chain in the tree(at home) snapped and she hit her head and knocked herself out for a minute. Like any parent would do we took her to the hospital. Our new BCBS IL insurance denied the claim. I was told I can fill out an injury form to see if they will reconsider. I’ve never had to deal with something like this before, our prior insurance just covered what we needed.
Are they going to try and make me claim this on my homeowners insurance or something? The bill is absolutely nauseating as it has the er, mri and X-rays on it. I’m panicking.

Does the driving on the beach inhibit family relaxation?

We are headed to Daytona Beach this summer, we have been once before but it was a super quick off season 1 night trip and have always wanted to go back.
Anyway I hadn’t thought through the whole driving on the beach being allowed. Does it get in the way of a family being able to just hang out on the beach and relax and play? We will specifically be in the area by the “Daytona Diner” if that changes anything.
