ADC out of range due to thermistor extension cable
Hello everyone,
I could really use some help — this issue has been stressing me for a long time.
The thermistor cable on my Phateus Rapido hotend is too short, so I tried extending it without cutting or soldering anything permanently. I bought some JST extension cables from AliExpress, thinking they would be crimped better than what I could do myself.
Since installing the extension, I’ve been getting repeated thermistor errors. I’m fairly sure the cable is the cause. I’ve even had cases where the printer reported ~80 °C while the nozzle was completely cold at room temperature.
The worst part is that it often happens mid‑print, which ruins the entire job.
Has anyone successfully extended the Rapido thermistor cable?
Is there a reliable way to do this without replacing the whole harness?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
