Underrated money saving tips?

Any frugal hacks?? Cheap takeout, deals around campus, cheap(er) stores etc?

Just moved into a summer sublet that is much cheaper than what I was paying before (thank goodness) and yet I still find myself strapped for cash at times. What are your best tips for saving money around Waterloo? Maybe this is a me thing but I find myself spending a lot more money per week than I should.

Arts grads, how's the job search going?

How's the job search going for the folks who are graduating and not going back to school right away? Have you been able to get interviews/jobs?

TDSB teachers, how would I reach out to a retired teacher?

To preface, I wasn't really "close" with this teacher at all, but they sparked something in me so long ago, and I carry it with me to this day, 10 years later.

I would love to send a nice letter/email to them about their impact on my career and educational decisions, and how their class was the catalyst for that (nice but not sappy). The problem is, I can't find them anywhere.

Some of the retired teachers I had in high school have managed to stay on LinkedIn and are 2nd degree connections, but not them. To some advice I found online, I looked on the OCT site to see if they still teach so I could try their work email, and they don't. They seemed to have at least worked at the school in 2024, but that's the most I could find.

So I feel kinda out of luck and think I should just let them enjoy their retirement lol. Has anyone managed to keep in touch with teachers? What's the best way now that I've kinda exhausted these options?
