Need advice about FAR exam, method of solving paper and pen

Hey everyone! I’m sitting for FAR exam for the first time on 10/19 and needs some advice. I am a kind of tester that solves with paper and pen all the time. Though I trained myself with the excel sheets that are already in the teslet for heavy computations, I still find myself using paper and pen most of the time especially if I read a problem and knows how to attack it right away. I am really productive and faster with this method that’s why I always use it during my study.

My question is that, are you allowed to ask for unlimited paper during the exam??? I use about 8-10 pages in solving a 100mcq questions. Also, is it only me that uses this kind of method? HAHAHA. Looking for some normalcy lol. Thanks!!

Need advice - Do I have enough time?

Hey everyone! I am taking the FAR exam on 10/22. As of today, 08/31.. I still have 6 topics to cover and I am very slow in moving from one topic to another. I also feel like i’m only 50% ready and have to finish all of these topics so I can hammer mcqs everyday. I always feel dummy when i’m answering mcqs too because I mostly get it wrong no matter how many times I faced the questions already because I missed out reading few words in the question. Whenever I do mcqs, I do get sad whenever I get it wrong and feel so discouraged.

Any advice? How do you spend the last 1.5 months before your exam day if you still have 6 topics left and a lot of recapping to do? Thanks in advance!

Using Uworld for FAR and Study Tips

Hey everyone! I’m just going to ask some advice from those who took FAR for the first time using UWorld. Do you think Uworld is enough already to use to take the FAR? If not, what others apps/platform should I use? Also how do you guys study? I am not a heavy note taker and also don’t watch lectures. I just skim the chapter in the book then hammer the mcqs right away because I learn through MCQs and take the time to read Uworld’s explanation when I get it wrong. It is very effective because I would get 50% to 68% all the time but ofcourse I wanted to improve those scores but I’ll be able to use up the mcqs in Uworld already for that chapter. Any advice?

Need advice for CPA review

Hello everyone! I am currently reviewing for the FAR section for us cpa exam. When it comes to my situation, I do work full time as an Account Receivable specialist, taking care 2 big dogs, has a deployed husband and running the household by myself.

To avoid burnouts and also with the time constraints, I can only study for 1-2hours a day, every weekdays and weekend every morning only (at night my brain is just fried with work and other stuff). I am also currently enrolled with UWorld.

Can you give me some advice on effectively reviewing with the said hours only? I started by watching videos, taking notes then tackling the mcqs. It is effective but it is taking so much time and my progress is would be very slow before I move on to a new topic but then i’ll forget it right away. Also I am planning to take the exam last week of September. Would I also have enough time to review?

Thanks in advance!

Study, 2 Dogs, and a Deployed Husband

Hey everyone, I wanted to ask for any advice if some of y'all are experiencing this. Please don't sugarcoat, I'll take it to core as all advices will help. I am a navy spouse who just moved to a different state and my husband will be deployed soon which means I'll run the household by myself. I got a 1 year old highly active pit bull and a 7 month old german shepherd which takes most of my time. I invest in dog walking services for them but seems like its not enough because they are in their crate the whole day while i am in my full time accounting job. I have been on and off on my review since January because we just PCSed to a different state, which takes out my concentration and consistency. Please give me some advice as I am so desperate already, I have been wanting to lock in but life takes away that opportunity from me. Its already July 2026 tomorrow and I feel like I am already taking up so much time for the Uworld subscription and also worried for my nasba accreditation (both may possibly expire) since I have been accredited and enrolled for the both since 2025 :( so depressed :(
