CFS - positive or negative amount?

I tried this TBS on Ninja and couldn't figure out why I was supposed to write a positive amount in "Payments for acquisition of fixed assets" instead of negative? It is an outflow of cash. I assume the question wants us to write all positive numbers but is it normal that we just have to "guess" what to do?

Some other questions also didn't ask specifically but I entered negative amounts for "Payment for..." and got the answers correct.

Maybe the hint is somewhere but I just couldn't figure it out... Can someone give some tips for similar cases? I've never taken FAR before so I don't know if questions in the exam will be any clearer than this.
(I'm using Ninja as a supplement, my main review course is Uworld, and I also sometimes got similar issues with Uworld where I couldn't tell what the questions were asking...).

How important are notes payable actually on the FAR exam? I know bonds and leases are heavily tested and usually come with a lot of questions, but what about notes payable?

Honestly, they’ve been consuming a lot of my study time, especially the present value concepts — like how to apply PV when there are periodic payments vs lump-sum payments, when the market rate is lower or higher than the note rate, and all the other details.

I’m also noticing there aren’t that many Becker questions specifically focused on notes payable compared to bonds and leases. Does that usually mean the detailed calculations aren’t as important, and that understanding the main concepts is enough? Or should I still spend a lot of time mastering all the details?

Let go after busy season

should i get my cpa license now that im banned?

So busy season ended and now i’m out of a job, all these companies do is use you and then drop you, this is my 3rd job as a cpa and once again i’m tossed aside like trash, i do everything i’m supposed to and if i don’t know how to do something im constantly calling my associates for help, i swear the supervisors and managers have it out for me, it’s impossible to get anywhere in this field, i put in so much work and even almost failed my cpa exams and barely passed, just to go through this! nauseating, idk what to do.. advice?

Which CPA review course is best ?

I’m planning to start studying for the CPA after a 5-year career break. I graduated in 2015, and honestly, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to make it through, but I still want to give it a try.

I feel overwhelmed and anxious thinking about whether I can really do this after such a long gap. Has anyone here been in a similar situation?

Also, which CPA review course would you recommend? How difficult is it to complete the CPA, and do you think it’s truly worth it in the long run?

I’m crashing out over AUD

I just gone through all of A1-A6 and I have absolutely retained nothing and my exam is June 12. how did y’all manage to pass the audit section? I’m currently reviewing everything again and trying to work through questions.

Aud retake results & Tcp prep

This was my second Audit attempt and I’m awaiting for its results on 5/27. ( I got a 69 on first one)
This time the exam felt better than last time despite some weird mcqs. I don’t know if it was enough for a 75 but hoping for the best.
However, I’ve set my mind that whether I pass or fail audit, I want to get my Tcp done in July Window. I’ve cleared Reg.
It’s so scary to wait for your second attempt results. You high key want to pass but lowkey you are expecting failure as well. 😭🤞
Is anyone else in the same boat?

Is a master’s degree worth it for networking opportunities?

I fucked up badly in undergrad; got bad grades and didn't get any internships or go to networking events. Haven't gotten ANY jobs in accounting or finance since I graduated 5 years ago. But I'm now in a much better place mentally and know that I can do much better academically.

I know this sub generally dislikes the MACC but I'm wondering if it would be worth it for these circumstances.

(I have just started studying for the FAR section of the CPA exam).

3 weeks away... FAR.

I'm not sure what I'm looking for here... maybe advice or support. I'm 3 weeks away from taking FAR. I still have Not for Profit section (F6) to get through. I'm a mom of 2, working fulltime. I took off work to study this week and I'm feeling paralyzed. Like I'm doing questions and nothing is sticking. I'm just not understanding it. Feeling frustrated.

Just finished f1-f3 and am doing a small "practice test" review of all of it. I just got 50% on the MCQs. Am I cooked?

So discouraging. I learned all of this and still only got a 50% on my review?

REG July 1 OBBBA Changes

I'm planning to start studying for REG starting the beginning of June, and I know that the OBBBA updates take effect starting July 1. I've been seeing so many people recommending to take the REG before that change; is the change really that bad? I have no tax/audit background (I'm actually a college student). If it isn't a big change, I think it'd be ideal for me to start studying in June, take the exam start or mid August,

Approximately how many extra hours would I have to put into my studying for this new change? And also, would it be inefficient for me to study on Becker starting June (since Becker updates take place prob late June) and then restudying/supplementing some material after the updates?

What if your supervisor won't sign your CPA experience paper?

Just curious. Going through the licensing process after you've passed all the tests, what if your CPA supervisor doesn't think you're qualified enough (or other reasons) and refuses to sign the experience form? How can you get around that?

Started CPA outsourcing firm

I've worked for 20 years in a global business environment for large corporations of US/UK and I'm a CPA from California and CA from India. I've recently opened an offshore Accounting firm and am planning to support CPA Firms in the USA to cater to their client needs during peak times without compromising on quality. Looking for some suggestions, help and guidance.

REG in 3 weeks! What do I do?

I have about 3 weeks until I take REG on June 11th. I’m studying full-time. I’ve just started R2 in Becker. I’ve already been through R1 (Individual Tax). I have tutoring for 2 hours twice a week with a tutor from Varsity Tutors on top of just going through Becker’s study plan. What is most important to cover and what will help guarantee that I pass? I do not have a tax background, only audit, and have passed AUD.
