New Contra Tangent

New tangent from contrapoints for any crossover dggrs. Not linking since it's paid content, but her journey probably resonates with a lot of folks in this community (even if I wished for Buttigieg in 2020 because I could see the future). This is probably more accurately titled something like "Wait, You Guys Unironically Like Stalin?; or How I Accidentally Helped the Birth of the Alt-Left, Only to Watch Them Ruin Everything With Glee"

Only Hasan is briefly mentioned, but there's pretty obvious featuring towards the whole alt left ecosystem from breadtube to streamers and everyone in between. It's both a breath of fresh air from a non-orbiter and absolutely not an explanation of Liberalism lol.

DSA Co-Chairs Refuse to Criticize Cuba for 10 Excruciating Minutes

https://youtu.be/wHz3l-LzsB8?t=655&is=hnpScBM7RRa5WRun

Legendary Univision news anchor Jorge Ramos and his daughter had both DSA Co-Chairs, Megan Romer and Ashik Siddique, on their podcast to chat about the rise of the DSA in the 2025-2026 election season. Featured here is nearly 10 full minutes of both co-chairs turning themselves into pretzels to avoid the question and criticize the US - including an honestly embarrassing retelling of the Bangladesh 70s coup and 90s revolution.

These are not serious people. We have some of the best educated, politically active members of society leading an ill-defined and poorly understood organization based entirely on vibes and one-dimensional campism. Whether they are growing or just loud or whatever, the DSA continues to be a vocal and massively popular movement and its core constituents have melted their own brains such that they cannot even acknowledge reality when given friendly platform after friendly platform.

NYTimes: Gretchen Whitmer Endorses Haley Stevens in Michigan Senate Race

The same person who hid her face at the white house to avoid blowback from the party is endorsing in what many are considering the real test of the populist wing and the establishment wing. I thought for sure she would sit this out. If this doesn't top Stevens over the edge and AES wins, we're gonna get tea partied so hard by suburban wine moms and 23 year olds.

What do you want me to say? Mossad Snarkers are bad!

Okay, so at this point I think it’s basically confirmed that I’m being actively snarked by a joint task force consisting of Mossad interns, three failed media columnists, and whichever malformed little goblin runs the “guy we don’t like said a thing” clipping economy on Reddit.

Like I need people to understand the sequence of events here because it’s actually insane. I make one post — not even a crazy post, by the way, like a completely normal post by the standards of anyone whose frontal lobe isn’t made of Oysters — and within forty-five minutes there’s a guy with a blue check and the physiognomy of a frightened rat reading my Reddit thread on a livestream like it’s the fucking Pentagon Papers.

And it’s never “here’s the argument.” It’s never “let’s engage with the point.” No, it’s always this weird forensic deep-dive into my account history by people who somehow think they’re the normal ones. “Uhhh guys, did you know OP posted in another subreddit six months ago? Did you know he used the phrase ‘power user’ in 2023? Did you know he has opinions about media incentives?” Yeah, no shit. Sorry I wasn’t handcrafted in a lab yesterday to give you a clean post history for your little public execution.

And then the mainstream media freaks show up and do the thing they always do where they pretend they’re neutral observers while very obviously trying to manufacture a target package. “We’re just asking questions.” Really? Because it feels less like “asking questions” and more like watching a hall monitor discover counterinsurgency. You’ve got these ghouls scrolling through my Reddit threads live, reading usernames out loud, zooming in on jokes, clipping irony as sincerity, sincerity as extremism, and extremism as “concerning online rhetoric,” all because the modern press has realized they can outsource actual reporting to whichever subreddit has the highest concentration of unemployed cluster-B hall monitors.

And I know some dipshit is gonna say, “Bro you sound paranoid.” Oh, do I? I sound paranoid? My bad, man. I guess when a swarm of content leeches, NGO failsons, and aspiring Atlantic staff writers all independently decide to comb through the same posts, quote the same jokes out of context, and frame the same handful of people as dangerous dissidents, I’m supposed to believe that’s just a beautiful coincidence of the free marketplace of ideas. Totally organic. Totally spontaneous. Just a natural flowering of journalism, where every media bugman in a 200-mile radius develops the same talking points at the same time after “randomly” discovering a Reddit thread with 38 upvotes.

At a certain point you either admit there’s an organized effort to harass this movement, or you have to believe in the most statistically impossible convergence of losers ever assembled by God.

Because that’s what this is really about. It’s not about one thread, one post, one joke, one username. It’s about making an example out of anyone who doesn’t immediately kneel in front of the approved narrative machine. If you can’t beat the argument, if you can’t out-debate the position, if you can’t even summarize the criticism without sounding like you had a stroke halfway through, then you do what every decaying institution does: you snark, you clip, you doxx, you harass, and then you wrap it all in this smug NPR cadence like you’re doing public sanitation.

“Oh no, we’re not trying to target anyone, we’re simply platforming a discussion about harmful online ecosystems.” Yeah and I’m sure the guy reading my comment history line by line to 14,000 people is just conducting peer-reviewed sociology.

These people are spiritually identical to middle school tattletales except with better ring lights and a Patreon. They can’t build anything, can’t persuade anyone, can’t survive five minutes in a hostile conversation, so their entire existence becomes this weird surveillance hobby where they stalk, catalog, and socially pressure anyone outside the approved consensus until they can call it “accountability.” It’s not accountability. It’s a digital struggle session for people whose only source of serotonin is hearing their own moral panic echoed back at them by other cowards.

So yeah, if you want my current working theory: I’m being gangstalked by a coalition of intelligence-adjacent subreddit janitors, media faildaughters, and content necromancers who think reading my Reddit posts on-air is activism. That’s where I’m at. That’s the level of discourse we’ve reached. Not argument. Not debate. Not even propaganda with some production value. Just a live dramatic reading of my post history by people who should legally be required to introduce themselves as “Hello, I’m a deeply unhappy person with too much browser history.”

And the funniest part is they think this makes me look bad.

Omni-Civics: Fmr. Rep Kinzinger & Destiny on Congressional Office Structure, Dark Money, and PAC Spending

THIS IS INSANE! Adam Kinzinger Reveals The Dark Money Destroying Washington

This morning's upload is some of my favorite Destiny content of the past year. In the opening minutes, Destiny and Kinzinger chat through the staffing budget and structure of a congressional office, how lobbyists are a necessary piece of that, and where adding money has corrupted that relationship.

The wide-ranging discussion also covers the Upcap the House movement, how The Last Republican documentary came together, some of the lead up to J6 Committee, and what it means to be a representative for hundreds of thousands of people.

Geddie-ism: Liberalism to Stand Athrwart Chaos

Ryan Geddie (just on stream) is a fairly popular figure among DGG and are probably pretty familiar with his content, but I think that Geddie's particular argument on populism is something to really consider.

Many liberals are strong supporters of our institutions, and we need to find a way to message that institutions are embodiments of the people's will. One of the reasons corruption is so salient and so easy to speak to from a populist framework - and the main reason why "Epstein-class", for all its subtext, remains a popular phrase even in circles generally sensitive to dog-whistley language - is because there is a clear line between the wealth, power, immunity from law, and looting of the public coffers.

Specifically, prosecuting the trump family for financial crimes, Hegseth for war crimes, et al, are best framed as elites using their wealth and power to break the law and rob us blind.

But to the concept of chaos - chaos is almost always understood, at least in the american political sense, as the counterweight of order. And there is clear disorder in the corruption of this administration, the prosecution of their immigration policy, and their dismantling of the administrative state. Democrats trying to get into USAID was one of the most powerful images of the era.

We should embrace any political framing that will allow us to cheerlead our leaders for a defense of the people against the corruption and flagrant disregard for individual rights that this administration has committed, and we should use that same framing to ensure our policy wins are shared as executions of popular will. Good examples are things like Mockler's Dems Deliver account.

Idk how to end this.

Biden 2028: Facts Matter

Hunter Biden is unwilling to let even his own supporters spread disinformation. This is the commitment to truthfulness the party needs. Clear-eyed critique of the limits of AI. What can't he do?

Take Me Back

edit: to clarify, tweet is from January 2025. This is nostalgia bait, and not meant to imply any return to form or active activities.

Two bridge burns, one home studio, one NYC studio, $800,000 in legal fees, 8 months of YT demonetization, a lib-and-learn host change, and 1 soon to be fired DNC Chair later, with only digital ground game and ryan geddie's liberal currents podcast to sustain me, I am pining for simpler times.

Match Their Energy

Isaiah Martin (Fmr TX House Candidate, CNN) with a generous offer of tissues for maga snowflakes. Between him and Tiny and Rashad Crenshaw, with the Moggler usually right there too, it's nice to have people actually hold some of these freaks to their own standards instead of letting them cry bully "so much for the tolerant left" through every conversation.
