Wright gain difficulty

Hi all

I've been an avid Crossfit enthusiast for over four years now, going three times a week since January this year and did my first RX Open in March (last year was scaled). At 30yo (male) and 1.9m tall, weight gain has always been difficult beyond 76kg (mass gainer and home gym got me from 65kg to 72kg twelve years ago). I once videoed myself doing a deadlift and I looked like a giraffe trying to drink water 😂

In January I started creatine without perceiving much benefit beyond the initial 1kg weight gain. Went onto two whey servings and two mass gainer servings after I won a raffle during the Open at my local box, and eat three servings of chicken and rice before dinner (I do this every day, training or not). Despite this I am now struggling to break past 80kg.

Those extra 4kg have made a HUGE difference though. Everything is easier, from deadlift to power snatch, and I've only received compliments from others when the shirt comes off (as one does), but the goal is 85kg body weight. Someone even said I could go for 110kg, but I laughed that off as virtually impossible.

My question is more how to read this and what I should actually be aspiring for in this regard? Where are all these calories going? Clearly not into fat, which would be great in addition to at least some muscle (I understand that perhaps resistance training would perhaps really propel me forward more than straight crossfit). For more context, my testosterone blood levels are quite high since I eliminated plastic from the kitchen in 2023 (pathology even flagged them as 'critical' a year later when I did a follow up, whatever that means), and I consume a lot of red meat by default of being South African. Or do I just need to give myself more time?
