Imagine a Dragons Dogma Online Remake with the Monster Hunter Wilds system where towns are packed like an MMO but the game is fully playable offline and completely yours forever
Don't get me wrong, Dragon's Dogma 2 is a beautiful game with an immersive world that many people rightfully love. But for those of us who fell deeply in love with the sheer adrenaline, the fast paced movesets, and the absolute combat freedom of DDDA and Dragon's Dogma Online, don't you just feel a massive void that hasn't been filled?
Seeing how Monster Hunter Wilds handles its multiplayer completely broke my heart, because it proved that Capcom already has the technology to give us our dream game.
Remember the magic of stepping into DDO's White Dragon Temple and seeing it bustling with life? MH Wilds recreated that exact magic. Its towns feel alive, packed with real players running around in real time. But the most beautiful part is that it isn't a fragile MMORPG that will die when the servers shut down.
Just imagine if Capcom used this exact blueprint to bring DDO back to life:
- No more fear of server shutdowns. Your save data is yours, stored locally. If the internet goes down, or if the game gets old, it never dies. You can play the entire DDO story and explore the world 100 percent full offline, with your loyal AI Pawns stepping in to fill your party.
- Can finally get back the raw, addictive fun of 6 active skill slots. We can feel the high agility and pull off insane combos with legendary vocations like the Alchemist and Seeker in next gen graphics, completely liberated from the exhausting, daily MMO mobile like grinds.
- We get that incredible social experience of a crowded town hub, but the moment we step outside into the open world field, it seamlessly transitions into a private, Peer to Peer session just for us and our friends.
MH Wilds proved that we can have a bustling, massive multiplayer atmosphere without the heavy MMO baggage that eventually kills games. DDO was taken away from us too soon, but the blueprint to save it is right here.
Doesn't this feel like the exact game we should be playing right now? If Capcom ever announced a project like this, I think it would truly unite the entire fanbase
