The craziest month of my life.
23 Y/0 M
I started investing last year. I used to have a bad gambling addiction with sports betting and poker. I recovered and didn’t place a bet for 3 years. I could not invest during that time. I felt like I was missing out and I would never be financially free. I’m glad I waited until I had more maturity and self control before investing. Because damn is it working for my regarded self.
I started off by investing in AI companies like KEEL and CRWV. I made a lot of fast money at first but then started to lose a lot as those stocks tanked. After rotating into space heavily at the right time (RKLB $45-50) I have completely flipped the script.
I started a Robinhood for trading while my main Chase account is something I rarely touch or look at. I put $900 in. I wanted to try options because I was so heavily convicted CIFR, and HUT having good earnings one good trade lead to another and I turned $300 in calls into $2k then Rklb earnings blasted account to $10k in 2 days.
I feel like it’s not necessarily gambling because I have a thesis and have been really thinking things through.i know everyone will tell me I’m still gambling and have a problem.
I’m currently riding the space theme and it’s working well. I’m trying not to let emotions into it. Just thought I’d post how crazy of a month I’ve had. I know this will probably not go on much longer but I’ve rotated a lot into shares.
A year ago today I had $2000 to my name and no investments. Is it mainly luck yes? But also my research and thesis has been paying off.
EDIT: After reading the thoughtful comments I’m going to be withdrawing half of this account and putting it into SPY/QQQ. I realize what I’m doing is going to lead to self destruction. Thank you guys.
EDIT AGAIN: After thinking things through finally I’ve decided what I’m going to do.
I’m transferring $6300 into my ROTH IRA into indexes and my favorite conviction plays for long term holds. HUGE WIN FOR ME! Roth IRA will be maxed out 5 months into the year.
I’m going to take another $2000 out and pay my credit card bill of $1900 from my recent trip to Cancun with my girlfriend.
I will be letting the rest sit in this account and will not be depositing more.
