North American Magpies have been bringing me branches and twigs.

I tried asking about this in r/birds. I’ve been putting out seed, scraps, and pretzels for the magpies that live just a few meters above my apartment for a couple months now. They swing by multiple times a day to see what I’ve put out.

The last few days I’ve noticed straw and branches placed on my deck chairs and by the door. Is this some sort of gift? They already have a stable nest nearby.
