What is this odd noise from a 7.3 Powerstroke?
2000 F450 7.3 Powerstroke with a hydraulic dump bed.
When the truck is started, it sounds like how a 7.3 should sound. But after about a minute of idling, that higher pitched sound starts. It stops making that noise when the brake pedal is applied but will make the same noise again a minute later. The RPM stays at idle the whole time. What could be causing that sound? All the fluids are the correct colour and at the proper level.
