I’ve been building an app for ADHD brains and I hope it can help people just like it helped me

The idea came from my own experience with ADHD and from getting frustrated with how most productivity apps work. You can sit down to do something, get distracted, open another tab, forget what you were doing, come back to the original task, get distracted again… and suddenly you’ve spent 45 minutes doing absolutely nothing you actually wanted to do.

So I’m trying something different with Ersa.

It lives quietly in your Mac’s menu bar and is designed to notice when you might be getting stuck or overwhelmed, things like constantly switching between tabs or getting caught in a loop — and gently check in with you in that moment.

You don't have to organise anything or keep track of anything.

You can type to Ersa or just talk to her, and she talks back.

It's very early, and I genuinely don't know yet whether I've got this right.

So I've opened the beta to a small group of people and I'd really love feedback from people who actually experience this day to day.

Especially:

  • Does Ersa check in at the right time?
  • Does her tone feel helpful or annoying?
  • Does anything feel intrusive?
  • Is there something you wish she'd notice?
  • And honestly, does the whole idea actually make sense to you?

If you want to try it, here's the TestFlight link:

You'll need Apple's free TestFlight app first, then the link should take you through the installation.

I'm genuinely interested in the bad feedback. 😂 This is a beta, and I'd much rather know now if something feels annoying, pointless or creepy than after I've spent another six months building it.
