I had a wisdom tooth extracted a month ago.

age: 30

Stitches came out after about 2 weeks, since then I've had this hole that leads to a cavern left by the extracted tooth's corona.

The dentist left a piece of the root inside as he couldn't get it out.

I think I can see a piece of the root through the hole, it's slightly visible in the picture, I'm pretty sure it's not food debris as I flush out stuck food from the hole after every meal with salt water.

There's no pain but the hole doesn't seem to be getting visibly smaller, and there's some heat/cold sensitivity in the nearby tooth.

How long is this going to take to close?

Should I go see a dentist urgently?
