Sunday nights = New films on Zee Classic channel. Nothing stays the same forever.
Zee Classic playing Tashkent Files(2019 film) on 4/10/2026 . On the Sunday night of 27/9/2026 Emergency(2025) was playing (they posted the movie schedule on their FB).
1 or 2 weeks ago they were playing The Kashmir Files (2022).
A few days ago Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hai & Sandwich were aired (comedy films). Didn't play Raja Babu ('94) but directly JDMGRH (2000) & Sandwich (2006).
Zee Classic's Insta bio: 'It's the only channel to show films from classic era of Hindi Cinema'. Was 2025 classic era?
Acc. an Insta post from 13/9/2026 The Kerala Story(2023) was also shown. Pitaah(2002) on 27/8/2026.
Not saying anything against ANY latest film but they've got a tonne of other channels where the audience can watch them. This Channel Is Not For New Films.
A public TV channel specifically for Old Hindi Cinema (pre 2000s) is where the masses watch a film at a time, this isn't anyone's private digital screen.
Maybe playing a movie like Bawarchi (1972) on a Sunday evening would be a good idea. For family love n unity. People can probably start off their Monday morning with a positive mindset.
This public channel is for the audiences' entertainment, not for any other purpose. We switch to it to distract our minds & disconnect from the negativity that's on peak today. Detaching ourselves from the present time for a bit.
Ajeeb time chal raha hai desh ka. Controlling the Indian TV channel content now. People aren't stupid. First news, then films & entertainment, next kids' channels?
Feels bad coz 1 of the few channels that made me switch from the Internet to the TV was ZClassic. It's about watching films mainly from the 1950s to the late 80s.. a channel dedicated to art, evergreen, black n white films. Those retro & calm vibes, the lifestyle, clothing, relaxed way of delivering dialogues, respectful demeanour, soothing music everything had a meaning.. That mental peace & relaxation one gets after watching some of these films.. I'm short of words. just go through the comment sec. of old Hindi films uploaded on youtube. From gen z to our respected boomers everyone is all praise for them.
Recently noticed some old flop films being aired too(not gonna name 'em).
Y latest films are suddenly being aired on ZClassic when we have many other channels available for that purpose? Y force 'old film lovers' to watch 'the new stuff' on Sunday nights? Everything doesn't need a revamp.
When 1. OTT is giving hard time to Cable TV 2. Audience has endless options. 3. Top Entertaining Shows aren't on TV (like audience gets overjoyed when unavailable ep. of Sumit Sambhal Lega get uploaded by other channels on YT) 4. Current TV shows aren't that good.. & you're pushing us further away by forcing your choice of films on our fav channels.
Either the dth guys remove our fav channels from TV due to disagreements OR channel owners forcefully start showing certain content that the audience doesn't wanna watch on a specific channel.
Entertainment Channels ko toh baksh detey. Har jagah poly ticks le ke ghuss jao bass.

If Govinda films are being played then play SRK, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, even Ayushmann Khurrana films too & then exclaim 'woh zamana kare deewana'. 👍
Waiting to hear Dileep Kumar sing 'Mere desh ki dharti' on ZCinema while Ranveer Singh goes 'Na to karwan ki talash hai' on ZClassic.
p.s. next Sunday night kindly play Amrit & Anand (Rajesh Khanna) on Zcinema, Dhurandar on Zclassic & Mughal e Azam on Pogo.
