Lei’s at Graduation

I am a white person from Southern California graduating this week with my masters. In SoCal, we always have leis at any graduation, high school or university. But before my mom gives me one here, I wanted to check. Is that okay? Is that cultural appropriation? Thank you.

This subreddit has always been so helpful so I’m hoping you guys have some ideas!

I’m moving soon from a furnished apartment into an unfurnished one bedroom. I’m an athlete and my training partner will come to visit often. I’m thinking of doing something like a split queen or king, so when she comes to visit, I can push the beds apart, but when I’m on my own, I can have a bigger bed. I’d use a mattress topper to keep the beds together and probably just get two twin XL beds…?

Thoughts? Terrible idea? Better ideas? Things to consider? Do they make nice twin XL mattresses?

In the past I’ve had a nice blow up mattress for guests but for longer visits I don’t want to have to always step around something in my living room.

Thank you!
