🥵🥵🥵 HOT WEATHER COMING UP! 🥵🥵🥵

Here are some tips to help you stay cool.

Aim for a realistic temperature: Set your thermostat to around 76 degrees when you are home.

Avoid the "blast" trap: Setting your thermostat to 60°F won't cool the house down any faster; it just forces the compressor to run longer, which can cause the system to freeze up.

Keep the fan on "Auto": Setting the fan to "On" runs it continuously, which can actually blow humidity back into your home between cooling cycles. "Auto" only runs the fan when the air is actively being cooled.

Block the sun: Close all blinds, curtains, or shades, especially on south and west facing windows.

Use ceiling fans (correctly): Ensure your ceiling fans are rotating counterclockwise to create a cooling downdraft. Fans cool people, not rooms, by speeding up sweat evaporation - turn them off when you leave the room.

Limit heat producing appliances: Avoid using the oven, stove, dishwasher, or clothes dryer during the hottest parts of the day. Grill outside or prepare cold meals.
