hey you guys, i'm currently digging into the brakes of our massey ferguson 133, because it was making a metallic screeching noise under braking.

i initially thought that the brake linings were gone and the shoes were rubbing on the brake drum, but there's still more than enough material on there. however, the linings aren't looking that good, there's a lot of pitting on the surface and it also seems like there is a small amount of metal caught in there... wherever that's coming from.

should i just go ahead and replace them? or do you think this can be fixed e.g. by sanding the linings?
