I F23 feel like my brother M21 hates me
I would like to know how I can normally interact with him?
Background story:
I recently moved from my hometown to another city 1h away bc of uni and before I always had some arguments with my brother who is two years younger than me. He would argue about the smallest things I did wrong, would call me childish and would just get irritated about everything I do.
I feel like it’s hatred against me, since I am the oldest and the only girl in the family (I have two other brothers) and he probably compares himself to me since he doesn’t have a job(got fired a few months ago and doesn’t find a job) , doesn’t go to uni or does anything else, while I am in uni and moved out bc of it ; he doesn’t know what he wants to do in life.
He also said recently that I am the most annoying person in his life, says that I complain a lot or argue about the most trivial things.
My brother tries to keep me down and acts like he is the boss at home, for example (I used to share a room with him and my other brothers) he would come home after a long day at night and would switch the lights on just to go to his closet and when I would do the same he would flip out.
He also would say stuff like that I never did anything at home and was just “chilling” on my bed, while he is the one not doing any housework - when I used to live at home and even now when i go to my family, I help my mom out.
I am currently with my family and he was irritated at me for some reason and told me to take the trash bag out while I was throwing something in it ,even though he was sitting in the same room the whole time seeing the trash bag being full.
I just think that he is extremely unhappy with his life right now but it’s not my responsibility to take his misery he tries to project onto me.
I am not sure if this will help but this is how he described me a few years ago when i asked how my personality was (I was very interested in personalities and self improvement) :
capricious; in a bad mood until she gets her things
- When She’s moody, She is mean to other people
- sometimes /almost every day is like that (mean but sometimes nice)
- Makes the same mistakes even when she apologizes; can’t hold promises well
-ignores ppl on purpose
- Doesn’t want to be in contact with ppl
- Doesn’t talk about her feelings and problems with anyone
- At home herself (mean) , changes her personality outside into being nice to ppl like friends etc
- Very shy outside
- Self absorbed; doesn’t like to share things
