Have I just figured out the nighttime overheating and palpitations nightmare?
I had an awful night of overheating, palpitations and stress dreams last night. Went through two pints of water too.
I’ve not had this for months but due to some dietary changes I’ve made recently I might have pinpointed a contributing factor.. last night I had pizza for the first time in ages.
I’ve largely given pizza up as it slows down my gut too much and I’m trying to manage prolapse issues. But last night my kids brought one home for dinner so that’s what I had.
I now suspect that could be the culprit - I’ve not had a heavy carb dinner for months as I’m trying to lose weight and help my digestion. This was the first in weeks and that was my first sleep like that in weeks.
According to Claude AI, the heavy glucose drop before bed is likely the culprit for those dreaded peri night symptoms.
I thought I would share in case anyone else is struggling with the night-time horribles.
I do know that I am blood sugar sensitive as I had one of those food genetics tests a few years ago and I have two of the genes associated with risk of acquired diabetes.
As we seem to be in the position of trying to figure out hormone transitions for ourselves thanks to the medical industry lack of studies- I thought I’d share.
